SURPRISE! We’ve got some BIG news, EPCOT fans! After a years-long transformation project that resulted in new rides, new nighttime entertainment, and new spaces, EPCOT has come a long way since it opened in 1982. But there’s still more change on the horizon!
In fact, Disney just dropped some BIG news about the future of EPCOT. Keep in mind that the details are still pretty limited, but this latest announcement already has fans talking. We can’t wait to see these changes come to life! But let’s not get ahead of ourselves. We need to tell you what’s NEW!
For over 40 years, Spaceship Earth has welcomed park visitors to EPCOT as the park’s beacon and one of the most memorable buildings in all of Disney World. Well, a newly-announced lounge is coming to EPCOT, and its sleek look is inspired by the “stories, shapes, and enduring legacy” of this beautiful icon. The decor draws inspiration from its unique geometric sphere and hopes to offer a zen space for families filled with “rich textures and warm metallic tones, giving it a mysterious and elegant intimacy.”
This NEW lounge is set to open themed to open at EPCOT in 2025. Based on the concept art, this Spaceship Earth-inspired space looks like it will have an AMAZING fireworks view.

Sorry but to me it looks like they are simply putting this lounge in the area where you know exit the ride the contains the exhibits to play with. It will be dark and boring in there. Should have fixed the ride instead.

More places to drink. Just what Epcot needs !! Walt was so against drunks being in his parks…………

Is this where the sponsor lounge was in the past or where the post show is now?

I’m just glad that this probably means that at least Spaceship Earth will probably be around for a little of the foreseeable future… so tired of ‘new’ meaning ‘closing down something and waiting many years before anything new opens up in that spot’… We love Spaceship Earth, and we loved sending the video postcards, when they worked. Hopefully they will fix that tech so that it works, maybe right there from your car, and we won’t have to lose that.

I hear that they are going to re-make Spaceship Earth into “The Little Mermaid Bubble – Enchantment Under the Sea”.

I agree, it looks like it’s in the area in thats Siemens lounge on the second floor.
We used to access it years ago due to being a military family. It was a cool and quiet place to relax for a while.
Was also able to jump the line to get on the ride. Win-win.
Ann says
Will this lounge’s access be limited to only certain groups like DVC or Club 33 members?
DFB Gigi says
Hi Ann! As of right now they haven’t said that it will be for a select group of people. 🙂
