A lot is going on in Magic Kingdom right now.
We’re not even talking about all the BIG announcements Disney just made about a new Cars land and Villains land coming to the park. We’re not even talking about the recent reopening of Country Bear Jamboree with a brand new show. Nope, we’re talking about another new ride in the park that could be a lot easier to ride soon enough — and we’re going to tell you why.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure opened earlier in 2023 and has had pretty long lines since. The ride does not have a standby line, and if you want to ride it, you’ll have to either get a spot in the virtual queue or ride it by purchasing Lightning Lane Multi Pass. However, we think both lines for this ride are about to get a LOT shorter.
There are a few reasons for this, but the main reason has to do with the TYPE of ride Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is. The ride is a log flume ride, which means there is water, which means when you plunge right before the big ride finale, you’re going to get wet. When temperatures begin to drop (and yes, they do drop in Florida, believe it or not), it might be too cold for a water ride. We remember this was the case with the previous Splash Mountain — in the cooler months, wait times would be as low as 5 minutes.
It’s the same situation we often see with Kali River Rapids in Disney’s Animal Kingdom — wait times tend to drop in the winter because who wants to get wet when it’s chilly out? When the temperatures drop to 50 or 60 degrees (yep, like we said, it CAN get that cold in Florida, and even COLDER), getting wet just doesn’t seem that appealing to many people.
This also means that you’ll probably be able to walk onto the ride multiple times in a row during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, especially on those cooler nights. So that’s an option, too, if you want to experience it over and over.
However, there’s another reason we think lines are about to get shorter for the ride. Most of the excitement about its newness has already died down, so we think there will be less demand for the ride moving on into the later half of 2024. By the time the weather warms up in 2025, this ride should have significantly shorter lines. In fact, we wouldn’t be surprised if Disney gets rid of the virtual queue and just switches over to a regular standby line plus the Multi Pass line.
So if you want to hop on this ride with shorter wait times, just wait for the cooler weather. But bring some rain gear or a change of clothes because wearing wet clothes on those chilly days in Florida is NOT fun (trust us, we’ve been there, done that). That Florida chill with the dampness of the humidity hits differently, y’all.

PLEASE make Tiana a stand by line by the time I go in March 2025.

And not only does it get “cold” in central Florida, but that high-percentage humidity that wrings one out in the summer, contributes mightily to the discomfort of being “damp” in December.
