As we were making our way around Magic Kingdom this morning, we spotted something mysterious…

We want to make sure you have the most up-to-date and useful information about Disney World, so we are in the parks EVERY single day! We want to make sure you know about all the latest treats, but we are also here to give you a heads-up when something is a bit amiss.
While we were in Magic Kingdom today, we noticed something a bit mysterious while we were checking out merchandise inside of Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe.
Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe
Walls have appeared! Yep, walls have sprouted inside of Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe! Walls were put up inside of the shop, closing off half of the store. Some of the merchandise that was located in that part of the store has been moved to other parts of the shop, while other merchandise like The Nightmare Before Christmas merchandise has been scattered around the park for now. We spoke with Cast Members inside of the store and they did not know why that part of the store was closed or how long to expect it to be walled off.

Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe is a merchandise store located in Liberty Square at Magic Kingdom. Inside, you can find a large selection of ornaments, stockings, holiday decor, and more. The store has holiday cheer year-round, and also offers personalization!
Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe
We were definitely surprised to see a bunch of walls inside of Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe; however, this store is definitely no stranger to construction. Back in February, work was being done on one of the store’s entrances. This construction is now complete, but it looks like more work may be getting done inside of the shop. It could also be a temporary wall to clean up or fix something quickly on that side of the store.

If you happen to be in Magic Kingdom at night, you can also spot a special character in a window of Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe! If you look closely, you might just see the shadow of Ichabod Crane!

We will continue to keep an eye on Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe, and we will update you when we see more progress! We always check out the Christmas Shoppe for new Stitch ornaments and any other must-haves, but I never knew that about the shadow of Ichabod Crane! This is one of the many reasons your blog is so fantastic. I’ve been going to WDW all my life, digging deep on WDW info and planning, and I never knew this. Thanks for doing what you do!
It would have looked much nicer if Disney did a nicer job of closing off the court entrance. Perhaps some rolling greenery would look better than brown plywood. Yuk.
