We are days away from the return of the EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival.
EPCOT has been festival-less all summer, and we are so excited for one of DFB’s favorite festivals to return! Earlier this summer, we got news of what artists and bands will be performing at the Eat to the Beat Concert series, and we also got a look at other offerings that will be returning to the festival, like Emile’s Fromage Montage and Remy’s Hide and Squeak Scavenger Hunt. In our opinion, some of the most exciting news came when the complete list of booths and menus was announced! After the list came out, some Disney Adults were left frustrated with the line-up of food offerings.
This year, the EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival will run from August 29th to November 23rd. It was announced that many fan-favorite booths will be returning, plus five brand-new booths!
We asked you, our awesome readers, what you wished Disney would change about the Food and Wine Festival, and one wish was made the most: you wished Disney would add more new menu items every year.
Now, don’t get us wrong, each year, we have our fingers crossed that some of our favorites from previous festival years will make their return, but we understand the frustration; we also want to try new things!
When the menus for the Food and Wine Festival were released, each menu item was marked if it is new or not, and Disney Adults were left disappointed when they saw many menus mostly had dishes from the previous year.
One reader said, “Each booth should be required to have a new food or drink every year. Canada has been the same every year we have went.” While we LOVE the Cheddar Cheese Soup from the Canada Booth, we can understand wanting a new menu or at least a new dish to be added to booths. This reader also clarified that they like the menu items in Canada, but it would not hurt just to add one more new one.
Another reader said that another option would be for Disney to do a menu rotation where each year, there is one menu, and the following year, they rotate with a second menu. That way, the dishes are not the same every year, but you can still be hopeful of seeing previous dishes return the following year.
Also agreeing with the readers above, this reader said that they feel like “90% of the food is the same every year.”
We will have to see if Disney listens to fan requests at the next EPCOT Festival, the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays, which starts almost right after the EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival wraps up. Regardless of whether the menus change or not, the good news is that EPCOT will not be without a festival as long as Festival of the Holidays starts on November 29th and runs through December 30th.

I was disappointed that the seafood pie was missing. This is my festival favorite in fact the whole Ireland booth is missing!

What happened to the pairing meals, demos and Party for the Senses. I am very disappointed
Matt says
New menu items and bring back demos!!
Marc says
The food booths are not that special for the food and wine festival. 90% of what used to occur is gone. How many of the special seasonal events also include them?

I always go on Day 1 of F&W. Have for YEARS and YEARS. And the first thing I get every year? Canada’s filet and cheese soup. Everyone is going to have favorites. But to mandate “something different” just sounds whiney. I’ve wanted the watermelon salad back for YEARS because it was replaced. Also the Maple Bacon cupcake. Both of those were replaced by things I found awful. But I didn’t run whining because – it’s a festival and there ARE new things added and other things replaced. I’m just glad it’s finally time. I wish it had started a month ago.

I want them to bring back the seminars, and wine tastings, and chef demos, party for the senses… then it’ll feel like the food and wine fest again!

I would love to see the Canda booth add a dish focusing on something with maple syrup!

I agree with previous comment that one new food or drink item should be added every year or a rotation menu every year. Certainly has gone down hill on the planning process.

Missing more wines at each booth like they used to have to try. Also can’t understand the lack of high top tables near more popular food booths.

Hot dogs at America Pavillion was a hard pass. I can get hot dogs any time. Also noticed a lot of food seemed to be spicy
