Part of the fun of an EPCOT festival is seeing the NEW stuff Disney is offering. Don’t get us wrong, we love our tried-and-true favorites, but we love finding NEW favorites!
The 2024 EPCOT Food & Wine Festival has officially begun, and there is a lot to offer. There are plenty of food booths with tasty items, merchandise items to grab (of course), and even concerts to watch. But don’t let it overwhelm you. We’ve got you covered with everything you need to know. And now we’re heading to one of the NEW booths this year — the Bramblewood Bites booth — to give you the FULL scoop! Is it worth a try? Let’s find out!
Menu
Over at the Bramblewood Bites booth is a host of hearty, earthy options — things that we think you’d easily find on the dining room table at the seven dwarfs cottage!
Now that we’ve taken a look at the menu, let’s dive into the food itself!
Eats
First up, we grabbed Grilled Cider-brined Pork Tenderloin with fennel apple slaw and apple cider gastrique for $6.75. We’re just going to tell you now, if you get ANYTHING here, get this. The pork tenderloin is so juicy and the char from the grill gives it a nice textural thing that just works beautifully — a hint of crunch, if you will. Then you’ve got that sweetness from the apple cider, which pairs perfectly with the savoriness of the pork tenderloin. This is seriously going to be one of our favorite things at this year’s festival. No, really!
Next, let’s dive into the Grilled Bison with butternut squash purée, roasted mushrooms, and huckleberry gastrique for $8.75. Okay, this dish is just GORGEOUS. Here’s the thing — our reporter isn’t a big fan of butternut squash purée by itself, but this dish just balances everything out. You’ve got the savory flavors of the meat and the butternut squash flavor missed with the huckleberry gastrique on top. This is what FALL tastes like, y’all. Plus, it’s served with a leaf on top to give us those autumnal feels.
Finally, we grabbed Cast Iron-roasted Brussels Sprouts and Root Vegetables with dried cranberries, candied pecans, and maple bourbon glaze for $5. This was another winner in our book. The maple bourbon glaze adds a nice sweetness, but you also get a hint of vinegar-like flavor with each bite. Although there’s no vinegar listed in the ingredients, we think it may be in that glaze. The Brussels Sprouts were beautifully roasted on an open grill and had a nice char on them, too, for a hint of crunch.
So were the drinks as perfect as the food? Let’s find out.
Drinks
In terms of drinks on this menu, we got a Spiced Apple Old Fashioned-inspired cocktail with Boyd & Blair Rum for $12. Typically, old-fashioned cocktails are made with bourbon or whiskey, so this was a new take on a classic drink. We liked the rum because it made the drink a bit sweeter, although we couldn’t really taste the rum. Instead, it just brought out the sweet apple flavor.
If wine is your up your alley, try the GoGi Pinot Noir for $12.
OVERALL
Although we were just getting started with the festival, we think this booth could be our favorite at this year’s festival. Every single food item here was not just solid but solidly good. The drink was just the proverbial cherry on top of the meal we had here. We will be returning to this booth again, hopefully when the weather is a bit more fall-like because everything here makes us think of falling leaves and sweater weather.
Time for another NEW booth! Bramblewood Bites:
