We’ve got a NEW Marketplace Food Booth to review for you at the 2024 EPCOT Food and Wine Festival!
Welcome to Forest & Field! This is one of FIVE new food booths at the Festival this year, along with Macatizers, Festival Favorites, Milled and Mulled, and Bramblewood Bites. Forest & Field is serving up an all-new menu of dishes with autumnal twists, and we hope you enjoy checking it out with us as we bring you complete reviews of every single Food Booth at the EPCOT Food and Wine Festival!
Menu
You’ll find Forest & Field between the World Showcase and the Imagination! pavilion in a new little area Disney is calling Harvest Hollow. Autumn Chili, Pumpkin Mascarpone Ravioli, and Burrata with seasonal fall fruit make up the food offerings here.
The beverage menu features Lievland Bushvine Pinotage, Piper-Sonoma Brut, and Brewery Ommegang All Hallows Treat Chocolate Peanut Butter Imperial Stout.
Let’s see what Forest & Field has to offer when it comes to fall flavors!
Eats
The Autumn Chili is made with bison, lamb, pork belly, root vegetables, jalapeño cornbread, smoked cheddar, and Crème Fraîche and costs $7.75.
Talk about a hearty fall dish — this was definitely that. It’s a rather large portion and could easily make for a meal. The root veggies were cut pretty small which honestly made them hard to notice. The bison and lamb lent the flavors of the meat to be a bit on the gamier side, so if you’re averse to those flavors this probably isn’t for you. We loved the jalapeño cornbread and wish there were more jalapeñ0s in it for more of a kick!
It’s truly PUMPKIN SEASON in these parts, and Forest & Field contributes to the fall festivities with Pumpkin Mascarpone Ravioli, which is made with sage-brown butter, pecorino cheese, and hazelnut praline. It costs $5.25.
Y’all, this was AWESOME. The pumpkin ravioli itself was good, with a solid amount of sweet pumpkin and mascarpone filling that was pleasant but mild. But, the hazelnut praline just elevated this dish into something else entirely. The little crunchy bits on top were so interesting both texture and flavor-wise. Pumpkin + sage-brown butter = a classic fall combination and this was executed perfectly. Plus, it’s part of the cheese crawl! It could also be a Best of the Fest contender for us this year.
Finally, the Burrata features seasonal fall fruit, spiced pecans, apple purée, and fig vinaigrette. It comes in at $5.50.
If fall could be taken and transformed into a dish, it would be this. We enjoyed how light and refreshing it was while also being the perfect combination of fall flavors. There was a nice spice and nuttiness thanks to the pecans, plus plenty of apple puree and fig vinaigrette. When combined with the Burrata, it was spicy and creamy with a hint of sweetness.
Onto the drinks!
Drinks
Okay, so this one’s especially intriguing as we come into Spooky Season… New at the Festival this year is Brewery Ommegang All Hallows Treat Chocolate Peanut Butter Imperial Stout.
Brewery Ommegang is located in Cooperstown, New York, and you can try this unique Stout for $5.75 for 6 ounces or $9.75 for 12 ounces. This was quite good — not quite as dark or heavy as something like a Guinness stout, so it’s a bit easier to drink. It’s still a stout, though, so it’s still something most folks will want to drink slowly. We didn’t taste too much of the peanut butter — it was almost an aftertaste. It was pretty heavy and not something we’d be likely to drink it the hot son.
Lievland Bushvine Pinotage is also available for $6.50, and so is Piper-Sonoma Brut for $7.00. Both are new to the Festival!
OVERALL
This may be a NEW booth for Food & Wine, but we think it will be an instant classic. It’s hard to beat all the warm, comforting fall flavors available here. The chili wasn’t our favorite but the ravioli and burrata were both standouts for us. Make sure you stop by the Forest & Field booth if you want to check out some NEW eats!
