Planning any Disney World trip can be stressful, but one of the most time-consuming parts is planning out where the heck you’re going to EAT!
Now, EPCOT is arguably the best park to be in when you want some good food (but Animal Kingdom isn’t far behind!), but there’s a few problems. For one, there are so many places to eat that it can feel VERY overwhelming, and two…there really aren’t THAT many tables/chairs to eat at when you’re not dining inside a restaurant. We’ve run into this problem countless times at all different seasons of the year, but we think we’ve finally found an amazing solution that only costs $21!
It’s So Simple, But It’s a LIFESAVER
Yes, you can laugh, but after you’re done getting flashbacks to your grade school cafeteria, we’re here to tell you that a simple Serving Tray is seriously a GAME CHANGER in EPCOT. EPCOT is, as we said, notoriously the park with the least amount of areas to sit down and enjoy a snack from a kiosk or snack stand (although Toy Story Land in Hollywood Studios is also pretty bad, but at least that’s not an entire park!). This becomes an EXTRA big problem when you realize this is also the only Disney World park with festivals throughout the year that draw lots of people to their 20+ food booths!
That’s a lot of people with very few places to sit. We’ve found ourselves eating on top of trashcans many more times than we’d care to admit, but hey, we’ve gotta eat! After multiple years of doing this and trying to block out just how unsanitary it was, we had a lightbulb idea — getting a tray means you’re bringing a stable, flat surface with you around the park when you’re focused on eating, and if you DO have to eat on a trashcan, there’s a barrier! So with that being said, do yourself a favor and spend the money to grab a pack of trays. That way, everyone in your party can have one (you can even decorate them, like we did!) and you won’t be as stressed about finding a table to balance all your delicious EPCOT eats.
These can also be very helpful if you grab some food from a quick service location but you’d like to take it somewhere else in the park. No need to worry about balancing it all in your hands!
If you’re heading into EPCOT soon, you’ll get to enjoy the year-round rides, attractions, and other offerings, in addition to the Food and Wine Festival running through November 23rd, and then the Festival of Holidays is set to start just a few days later on November 29th. Be sure to stay tuned to DFB for all the latest Disney World news!

Well, one of our very favorites places to eat in Epcot used to be Restaurant Marrakesh! We also love breakfast at Akershus (those potatoes)! Although many favorites have disappeared from the menu, Coral Reef is still a must do for us. There is usually a yummy bisque and maybe even an irresistable dessert what may harken back to that Bailey’s chocolate mousse that we miss so much. Nine Dragons is a new favorite for when our plans change or we need something relatively last minute – they tend to have availability on shorter notice than other table service spots, and we’ve had great food and service there.
