We thought we had just about seen it all when it came to Disney-related horror films, but, here we are. After Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey ruined our childhood perception of the loveable ol’ bear, we were sure we’d never recover.
And then it was announced that those same creators would be making another slasher movie in the same universe called Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble (no, that’s not a joke) featuring characters like Bambi, Tinker Bell, Pinocchio, Peter Pan, Tigger, Piglet, and more. But, they’re not stopping there because yet another Disney character will be getting his own scary movie and we’re sharing everything we know.
From the creators of Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey and Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble comes the latest Disney-related slasher film — this time, all about a boy who never grew up. Peter Pan’s Nightmare Neverland tells the story of Wendy Darling as she attempts to rescue her brother Michael from “the clutches of the evil Peter Pan.” Welp, that sure sounds utterly terrifying and will no doubt ruin even more childhood memories.
You can catch the trailer for Peter Pan’s Nightmare Neverland below, but it may not be appropriate for youngin’s so just keep that in mind:

Peter Pan is just the latest character to be written into a slasher film thanks to the character now being part of the public domain, like Winnie the Pooh and Steamboat Willie himself. The original Peter Pan character and story was written by J.M. Barrie. His first appearance as a character was in 1902 — so Peter Pan has been around long before Disney.
Still, he’s a character that many find synonymous with the Walt Disney Company ever since that first movie came out in 1953.
If Winnie the Pooh and Peter Pan aren’t scary enough for you, you can also be terrorized by Mickey Mouse Trap, a similar horror movie that was released shortly after Steamboat Willie became part of the public domain — and thus, fair use to be featured in any number of unscrupulous productions.
It follows a character named Alex, who is working a late shift at an amusement arcade on her 21st birthday. Her friends show up to surprise her, and then things take a horrifying turn as they all end up hunted by a simultaneously terrifying and silly-looking fellow in a Mickey mask.
If you’re looking forward to seeing Peter Pan’s Neverland Nightmare, we have excellent news for you — it will be released on Halloween, October 31st. Just in time for you to never be able to sleep again.
One thing is for sure, we’ll be on the lookout for any terrifying Peter Pan impersonators. Well, that and that you can always count on us to bring you the latest Disney news and more — so make sure you stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog!
