There’s been a change or two at Disney World over the past years, right?
We’ve seen new rides, restaurants, and even new hotels spring up, but there have been a couple of pretty sneaky changes that have been made at Disney World and thought we wouldn’t notice, so we’ve gotta talk about them!
As we said, Disney World has made some pretty “sneaky” changes that feel like they thought we wouldn’t notice, so let’s go over some of them now!
Taking Muppet*Vision 3D Off Extended Evening Hours
Raise your hand if you’ve ever enjoyed Extended Evening Hours! Those shorter lines are the best, aren’t they?! Well, if you were hoping to get in some quality time with Muppet*Vision 3D with the announcement that Extended Evening Hours is coming back to Hollywood Studios, you’ll have to think again.
Recently, Disney has quietly taken it off the list of attractions available after hours, and there was zero fanfare about it. For all the Muppet fans out there, this is a major blow, especially with all the recent discourse about the new Monsters, Inc. Land potentially replacing Muppets Courtyard. There are still alternate potential locations for the Monsters, Inc. Land, but at the moment since Disney hasn’t confirmed its location, there’s still a lot of uncertainty. We have heard from our readers that Muppet*Vision 3D has been closed during After Hour Events they have attended previously, so this does not mean that Muppet*Vision 3D is closing for Monsters, Inc. at all — it’s just an interesting change!
The CommuniCore Letdown
Remember when Disney hyped up CommuniCore Hall at EPCOT? They pitched it as the central hub for the Food and Wine Festival, promising seminars, demonstrations, and tons of exciting activities. Well, fast forward to reality, and what do we have? A nearly empty space that doesn’t live up to the grand vision we were sold. Here is the concept art we were given.
CommuniCore Hall feels more like a missed opportunity than the vibrant, interactive experience we expected. Instead of the lively spot for foodies, it’s more like a place to pass through on your way to something actually happening. You can see that it’s pretty much a blank slate but there are some similarities, so we are holding out hope that when Festival of the Arts rolls around, the place will come to life like the concept art shows above!
No More Night Safaris at Animal Kingdom
If you’ve never done a night safari at Anima Kingdom, picture this: the sun setting, the animals roaming in the twilight, and you, on a magical night safari. Sadly, that’s no longer a reality. Disney has sneakily adjusted the Kilimanjaro Safaris’ operating hours, so now it’s a strictly daytime affair.
If you didn’t notice this change, you’re not alone. Disney made the change without really announcing it. The night safari really added such a unique vibe to the Animal Kingdom experience, so it’s a shame to see it quietly disappear.
The Sleepy Hollow Waffle Switcheroo
Here’s the thing, Sleepy Hollow used to have our one of our favorite snacks. They were these delicious waffle sandwiches (one savory with a spicy chicken and another with fruit and chocolate-hazelnut spread).
Then, Disney went and switched things up by changing the waffles, and now these waffle sandwiches have become some of our least favorite things. The waffles used to be famously soft and crispy and now they’ve been replaced with Mickey-shaped waffles, which are almost pancake-like, and when you add toppings, they get soggy fast.
Disney didn’t say a word about this change, but we definitely noticed, and let’s just say we’re not happy.
The Disappearing Pink River in Concept Art
If you’ve been following the updates on Disney’s upcoming Tropical Americas Land in Animal Kingdom, you might remember a stunning pink river featured in the original concept art, right near the casita. It was a bold, beautiful design choice and we were here for it. But what happened now?
Poof! The pink river has mysteriously disappeared from the latest concept art, and Disney’s acting like it was never there to begin with, which is a bit strange since they even mentioned it at D23!
There you have it — a couple of the sneaky changes that Disney World thought we wouldn’t notice. Did we miss any that are on your list? Go ahead and share them with us down in the comments, and keep it here at DFB for all the latest Disney news and more!

How do we get the sleepy hollow waffle sandwich back? This is important!

Sadly, the people running Disney now are a big disappointment. They disappoint in the vision, imagination, skill sets and execution. Bob Iger needs to go and a new executive team is needed. Disney needs to find leaders dedicated to excellence once again, and forget the political agenda that selects leaders for reasons other than their talent and abilities.
