Something new and special is on its way to Disney’s Animal Kingdom!

We love going on the Kilimanjaro Safaris in Animal Kingdom. It’s exciting to see all the animals in areas designed to be like their natural habitats. You can also visit the amazing creatures of Animal Kingdom along several different trails located around the park. There’s the Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail, Discovery Island Trails, and Maharajah Jungle Trek. Soon, one of these animal trails will be getting a new little member!
You can visit animals of Southeast Asia along the Maharajah Jungle Trek including dozens of bird species, a flying fox, a Komodo dragon, and of course TIGERS.

Speaking of tigers on the Maharajah Jungle Trek, Dr. Mark at Disney, Vice President of Disney’s Animals, Sciences, and Environment, recently shared a BIG announcement about a new little cub coming to the animal trek. Sohni, a tiger at Animal Kingdom who you can visit on the Maharajah Jungle Trek, is expecting a baby tiger! Dr. Mark shared a “‘Sohni’- gram” of the baby on Instagram and noted that Disney is carefully monitoring the baby and mom through this experience.
A due date was not announced, but Dr. Mark added that he and Disney will share more information soon. He added, “If you’re visiting Maharajah Jungle Trek, be sure to congratulate the soon-to-be parents.” How exciting for Sohni and the Cast Members who work closely with all of Animal Kingdom’s animals!

We love getting baby animal announcements from Disney World! It’s also fun seeing the new babes being introduced at the park. Baby animals born here are exciting moments for the species, world, and all of us animal lovers.
