If you’re planning a trip to Disney World, you’ve GOT to check out that refurbishment calendar.
If there’s a ride or attraction that you’re really hoping to visit, then you’ll definitely want to check the park hours and the attraction hours ahead of time, just in case the ride is closed for maintenance during your trip. But did you know that the same can go for other offerings in Disney World, like restaurants, hotel lobbies, or pools?
The Disney World website was recently updated to include a new scheduled refurbishment at All-Star Sports Resort. From January 2026 until late April 2026, the Surfboard Bay Pool and the kiddie pool at the resort will be closed for regular maintenance.
During that time, the Grand Slam Leisure Pool will continue to be available. Also, guests of All-Star Sports will be welcome to check out the pools at the other two All-Star Resorts. That way you don’t miss out on the large pool experience.
It’s not uncommon for Disney World to close a hotel pool for a few months to give it a refurbishment, but they’re certainly letting us know about this closure WELL in advance! Reservations haven’t yet opened up for 2026 and likely won’t until sometime in 2025, so this warning going out now may affect where you stay when you visit.
So this is just your friendly reminder to check and see if there are any construction projects happening at your hotel before you book! (Or at the very least, before you travel.) We’ve seen plenty of complaints over the years from people who had rough experiences staying at a hotel where amenities were unavailable due to construction.
We’ll make sure to keep you in the loop with any more refurbishments and construction projects, so stay tuned to DFB!
