The excitement you feel getting ready to board a ship is like no other, but there is one thing that can instantly deflate it: having to toss out an item from your luggage. Well, if you’re headed on board a Royal Caribbean cruise ship, this may end up happening to you.
I’m sure it’s happened to some of you reading and I think we can all agree that it can ruin the vibe at the start of a vacation. So, if you’re setting sail on a Royal Caribbean ship in the near future, here’s an essential item you might pack in your bag that’s now BANNED from taking on board the ship.
Here at DFB, we are always sharing our must-have travel essentials to take with you on any trip, and this time one of our favorites is on the list of banned items on the Royal Caribbean website: multi-plug outlets.

Multi-plug outlets give you the capability to charge several devices without being limited to the few outlets that accompany most hotel rooms, or in this case, cabins/staterooms. Though extension cords and power strips have been previously prohibited, multi-plug outlets have not been added to the list of banned items until now.

Many recent cruisegoers were not aware of this change, and some of their negative opinions have been shared online concerning this sudden ban. Multi-plug outlets have been one of our trusty essentials, and we understand the frustration surrounding the ban. However, we understand the safety concerns Royal Caribbean Cruise Line may have with them, and we respect their decision on the matter.

If you are planning to take multiple devices on your trip and require more than the standard outlets available in a room, there are other cruise lines that do not currently ban Multi-plug outlets such as Disney Cruise Line.
