Going to Disney World can be very tricky.
Whether it’s because you have to go at a time of year that’s typically more crowded, you’re traveling with a large group and trying to juggle what everyone wants to do, you’re having trouble creating your budget, or a number of other snafus you may encounter while planning — there are a lot of working parts that go into a Disney vacation. That’s why we try to find ways to make your trip easier, including trying out products that are supposed to aid in that. Some products are great, while others aren’t, and we’re here to tell you our honest opinion about them. On this episode: something that will avoid making your Disney World popcorn bucket spill over everything you’ve brought with you.
Avoid Popcorn Disasters!
These GRIFTI X Cross Style Bands (we call them Popcorn Bands) can be used for a multitude of different things around your house — stacking tupperware, keeping your laptop shut, and much more, but they can also be used to keep your Disney World Popcorn Bucket from opening and spilling all over the place!
This is especially true if you’re traveling with kids — while popcorn refills are only a few dollars with a popcorn bucket, no one wants to accidentally lose an entire bucket by dropping it! We have personally just had these lids pop off at the most unexpected of times. Let’s face it, they are the most sturdy things in the world. That’s why we LOVE these bands. They are very simple to use, and that they come in a multi-pack to share, or gift ,or just color coordinate. Mostly though, it does the job effectively with minimal effort!
We will stay though that the bands are a bit grippy, so when you set them down on the ground, some of the gravel and things (like hair) tend to stick to the bands until you knock the debris off of it. While that’s easily done, it’s still not what you necessarily want to be touching. In addition, when we put the band on, in order to get it around the bucket and be able to lift the handle we had to take the handle off first, then wrap the band around it, then replace the handle.
Finally, if we wanted to snack on the popcorn in between trips, we had to really hold the top of the lid while we grabbed the popcorn and replace it quickly, otherwise the band would slip off and we’d have to repeat the process to get the band back around the entire thing which was a tad annoying.
So is this really a necessity for your trip? No, especially if you’re not someone who ever really grabs popcorn in the parks. However, there’s no denying it’s super helpful and seems to be one of those things that once you get used to having it, it would be hard to do without! We do feel that it made our trip easier, especially because our reporter likes to clip the popcorn buckets to the outside of their bag and save the room inside for their stuff. And this is when these babies tend to pop open unexpectedly! Aside from the tedious annoyances we previously mentioned, it was super convenient and we really enjoyed using it!
