Hurricane Helene is expected to make landfall in Florida later this evening, and we’ve been following updates as the storm progresses.
As the Hurricane continues to grow and get closer, Disney World recently announced the closure of Typhoon Lagoon on Thursday (today), as well as the cancellation of tonight’s Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. It seems Universal Orlando is following suit and has also announced a cancellation and closure of its own ahead of the hurricane making landfall.
Due to Hurricane Helene, Universal Orlando has announced the cancellation of tonight’s Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Florida. If you have a dated ticket for September 26th for Halloween Horror Nights, it will automatically be honored for a single night use through September 29th. If you have other questions about the cancellation, you can contact Universal’s Guest Contact Center team by calling 800-711-0080. Universal states that it anticipates reopening Halloween Horror Nights on September 27th.
Universal Volcano Bay is also closed today, September 26th, although both Universal Studios Florida and Universal Islands of Adventure will close at their regular times this evening: Universal Studios will close at 5PM, and Islands of Adventure will close at 8PM. However, Universal CityWalk will close early today at 8PM.
If you have a trip planned to Universal Orlando, you can reschedule or cancel your Universal vacation package, hotel, or tickets without any cancellation or change fees if you booked your trip directly with Universal. This is according to the theme park’s severe weather policy in the event that a hurricane or tropical storm warning is issued (Orlando is currently under a tropical storm warning). You’ll need to contact Universal to cancel or make changes.
Stay tuned to DFB for more.
