There are so many great dining options across Disney World!
We know a thing or two when it comes to food at Disney World, as we have dined at every single restaurant across the resort…multiple times. From quick service to table service, it can be hard to decide where you want to dine. There is one thing that we do know: Cast Members at table service locations work so hard to make sure you have a pleasant dining experience. Sometimes, they run into issues while serving, and they wish they could tell the guests they are serving what they are thinking, but they don’t because they are too nice.
Since they can’t outright say it themselves, we compiled a list of five things that your Disney World waiter wishes they could tell you.
“Yes, Please Leave a Tip”
We totally understand that a vacation to Disney World is not cheap! Since it is so expensive, some people choose not to tip because they do not want to have to spend more money than they already have.
Your waiter works hard to ensure that you and your party enjoy your dining experience, so please show your appreciation by tipping your waiter accordingly. Just like you would with a waiter at a local restaurant back home, you should tip your waiter at Disney World. Also, tips are not included when you have the Disney Dining Plan, so even if you are using those dining credits, you will still need to tip your waiter/waitress!
The Ultimate Guide to Tipping at Disney World
“Please Wait to Place Your Order with Your Waiter”
It can be frustrating when your drink runs out, and you desperately want a refill, and you may just want to pull the closest Cast Member you see and ask them to refill your drink for you. While the Cast Member you ask will try to complete your request, they actually may not be allowed to.
One of our team members shared that as a seater, she would have guests who were already seated ask her to serve them while she was in the middle of seating other guests. She was not allowed to be the one to bring them their refills or condiments, so she would have to find other Cast Members who were approved to serve or search for their waiter.
The best thing you can do is wait for your waiter to return or notify a Cast Member that you have not seen your waiter in a while. They will be more than happy to find them for you!
“Please Don’t Ask to Move Tables in the Middle of Your Meal”
It can be super exciting to snag a dining reservation during nighttime entertainment when the restaurant offers a great view. If you want a table with a view, make sure to request it with the seater at the host stand when you check-in. They will relay your message to the assignor, and they will see if your request can be accommodated.
If you do not get a table with a view, please do not ask your waiter to move tables. They are not in charge of table assignments, and moving out of their section could hurt their rotation and take away a table from a waiter in that section.
If there is a viewing area, you can always politely ask or tell your server you would like to stand and watch the show.

Make Sure to Confirm Discounts and Dining Plan
At the beginning of the meal, your server may ask you if you will be using the Disney Dining Plan. This is super important because it changes the way that they ring up your meal. So make sure to confirm with them before the meal starts to avoid any issues when your meal is finished.
The same goes for Disney discounts. Your server may ask at the beginning of the meal or right at the end if you have any Disney discounts. It is way easier to tell them before you get the check so that way they do not have to go back and ring it up in the system again.

Make Sure to Confirm Allergies Before the Meal Starts
Disney takes allergy requests very seriously. You will be asked two or three times before your meal if anyone has any allergies or dietary restrictions. It is so important to be honest and upfront to avoid being served something you are allergic to and also to prevent cross-contamination.
The ticket that your server has for your table will be marked with your needs, and in most cases, a chef will come out to talk to you to make sure the meal they make you are safe to eat. Waiters can get in a lot of trouble for serving a guest food that they are allergic to, so make sure to confirm your allergies when you are asked.
Your waiter truly wants you to have the best meal experience and although they can’t say it outright, they wish people who dined at Disney World restaurants knew these five things. As always stay tuned to Disney Food Blog for more Disney dining news and tips!

Jeremy Winslow says
I am all for signature dining. To me quick server in general is too “amusement park” where table service specifically signature dining feels more “vacation”
