Can you believe it’s almost October?
While that means it’s finally officially spooky season, it also means that Thanksgiving is only a short 2 months away, and if you’re spending the holiday in Disney World, it’s time to prepare. Grab those park pass reservations ASAP (if you need one; otherwise, if you’ve bought date-based tickets for that time, you’re all set!), and if you’re planning to eat a special Thanksgiving meal during your trip, the time to book reservations is NOW!
Today, September 29th marks 60 days until Thanksgiving, which falls on Thursday, November 28th this year. Now, the 60 day booking window for dining reservations is not exclusive to Thanksgiving or other holidays — you can book table service dining reservations for your trip 60 days out, no matter what time of year it is.
While most table service restaurants in Disney World strongly encourage Advance Dining Reservations (some do have walk-up waitlists that will sometimes have availability throughout the day), this is especially true when it comes to booking reservations on holidays. So, what restaurants should you be looking at if you’d like a Thanksgiving-style meal on the day? Let’s go through them!
First up, Liberty Tree Tavern in Magic Kingdom serves a Thanksgiving-style meal every day of the year. This all-you-care-to-enjoy restaurant serves up items like pot roast, roasted turkey breast, oven-roasted pork, mashed potatoes, seasonal vegetables, mac & cheese, and herb stuffing, as well as a delicious Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake for dessert.
But if reservations are already gone, don’t panic! The Diamond Horseshoe is right nearby in Magic Kingdom and serves up a very similar menu. It’s also an all-you-care-to-enjoy restaurant and is a great second pick if Liberty Tree Tavern has no more availability.
Over in EPCOT, you can also get a reservation for Garden Grill! This table service character meal is focused a little more on comfort food but is still all-you-care-to-enjoy and does serve Thanksgiving-like options year-round. You’ll be able to say hello to Chip and Dale, Pluto, and Mickey as you dine on salad, grilled beef, barbecue roasted chicken, macaroni & cheese, seasonal vegetables, creamy mashed potatoes, and a berry shortcake.
Over in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Hollywood & Vine has their seasonal Minnie’s Holiday Dine, which is a character meal served buffet style. In the past, we’ve seen carved herb-roasted turkey breast with garlic redskin mashed potatoes, cornbread stuffing, sautéed green beans, turkey gravy, and cranberry orange relish served up for Thanksgiving. Plus, you’ll get to see Minnie, Mickey, Goofy, and Pluto dressed in their holiday attire, and who doesn’t love that?
Over in Disney Springs, there are also loads of options to choose from, but some haven’t announced their offerings just yet, so we’re basing this off of what was offered last year. In 2023, Raglan Road Irish Pub offered a special Thanksgiving menu that offered items like butter and herb roast turkey, roast garlic mashed potatoes, duck fat roasties, honey glazed carrots, bacon braised Brussels sprouts, sausage meat with walnut stuffing, and red wine jus with cranberry sauce. It cost $39.99 per adult and $19.99 per child, and we’re hoping to see it return again this year!
We also saw special menu offerings at Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’. The Homecomin’ Holiday Turkey Sandwich was served from November 24th, 2024, through January 1st, 2025, and was made with smoked turkey on toasted artisanal bread, dressed with signature cornbread stuffing and a sweet and sour cranberry aioli and was served with house-made potato chips. The restaurant also served up Thanksgiving dinner to go, which fed 4 people, cost $200, and included Smoked Turkey with Gravy, Andouille Sausage Cornbread Stuffing, Homemade Cranberry Sauce, Whipped Mashed Potatoes, Southern Green Beans, Cheddar Drop Biscuits with Fig Jam, and four Slices of the restaurant’s famous Hummingbird Cake. We’d love to see both of these return this year!
We also saw the following offerings around Disney Springs and Disney World’s hotels (and Good Neighbor Hotels):
- Open-face Turkey Smash at The Polite Pig
- Holiday Turkey Sandwich at Earl of Sandwich (not a table service dining location, so no reservation required)
- Thanksgiving Character Breakfast at the Four Seasons’ Ravello, a Thanksgiving buffet at Plancha, and Thanksgiving specials at Capa
- Prix Fixe Thanksgiving meal at Whispering Canyon Cafe at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge
Be sure to be on the lookout for other Thanksgiving offerings on various quick service and table service menus around the resort, as many may decide to add something on without much notice. And, of course, stay tuned to DFB for all the latest holiday news!
