A construction project at Disney World was expected to be finished today, but it is lasting longer than expected.

The food court at Disney’s Pop Century Resort may not be reopening as originally anticipated, find out when refurbishment is expected to be finished now!
The Everything Pop Food Court at Disney’s Pop Century Resort has been undergoing construction since July 29th, 2024. When Disney World first announced the refurbishment, it was scheduled to last until September 19th, 2024.

The construction should have been done today, but that may not be the case. The Everything Pop Shopping and Dining page on the Disney World website has now been updated with a new message stating that Everything POP Food Court will be refurbished from September 29th through November 30th, 2024. That’s right, the refurbishment has been extended for TWO more months!

The message notes that guests may need to use alternate entrances to the food court and dining room seating may be limited. We will be stopping by Pop Century Resort tomorrow to check-out the construction progress and see how the Everything Pop Food Court is looking. It is possible that this extension of the refurbishment is for a different area of the food court, or the construction is just taking longer than originally anticipated. We will be sure to bring you a full update on this food court refurbishment!

We stopped by the Everything Pop Food Court when construction first began back in July. Guests were still able to Mobile Order food from a limited menu and some seating was still available in the dining area. However, there were lots of sections that were behind constructions walls. The following areas were accessible: Mobile Order pick-up area, beverage station, utensils stations, and most of the indoor dining.

Disney’s Pop Century Resort also opened up a Grab ‘n’ Go area inside the Fast Forward Arcade that offered a variety of snack foods throughout the day. From 7AM until 11AM you can grab breakfast items including bagel sandwiches, pastries, yogurt, overnight oats, and more. Beginning at 11AM until 10PM, you can choose from a variety of snacks including whole fruit, cheese cup, pastries, and cookies. The Fast Forward Arcade also has additional seating available.

I know this news is disappointing for Pop People going soon, but they really do a good job with the mobile thing and the Fast Forward grab and Go. You can take a walk and go to Art of Animation Food Court like we planned, but we didn’t do it because we were ok with the set up as is….not happy, happy – but ok! (Petal’s is open and has a beverage station…. ☹️
