Lightning Lane Multi Pass is about to have a price increase at Disney World!
This paid skip-the-line service debuted on July 24th, 2024, replacing Genie+ to allow guests access to Lightning Lanes. The service is about to experience a price hike, and we want to make sure you know about it!
The new Lightning Lane Multi Pass system has been around for a few months now. With this service, you can pay to bypass standby lines and enter the Lightning Lane for select attractions. You pay a base price for your first park of the day and can pre-book three selections. Guests staying at a Disney World hotel or other select hotels can book seven days in advance of their check-in day, while all other guests can make their initial selections three days in advance.
The Lightning Lane Multi Pass systems utilizes a tier system in all the parks except for Disney’s Animal Kingdom. With the tier system, you can book up to one attraction from the top tier, and then your other selections will be made from the lower tier. While Lightning Lane Multi Pass includes most attractions, some of the most popular attractions must be booked on an a-la-carte basis through the Lightning Lane Single Pass system. You can check out our full guide to both Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Lightning Lane Single Pass for even more information!
We have been monitoring the prices of Lightning Lane Multi Pass since the system debuted and we noticed that a price increase is coming soon! Beginning October 2nd, 2024, we are noticing that Lightning Lane Multi Pass prices have increased. When purchasing Lightning Lane Multi Pass, you will pay a base price for a park and that will be the park you can pre-book your selections in. As soon as you scan off one of your selections, you will be able to make an additional selection in any of the four parks.
On October 2nd, Magic Kingdom will jump to $29 which is the highest price since July 25th. Then, on October 5th, Lightning Lane Multi Pass will cost $26 for Disney’s Hollywood Studios, $18 for Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and $21 for EPCOT. These are the highest prices for Lightning Lane Multi Pass since July 25th, 2024 (the day after Lightning Lane Multi Pass debuted.)
On October 18th, Animal Kingdom will increase to its highest price yet at $19. Then, on October 21st, we will see an EVEN bigger price hike! Magic Kingdom jumps up to $32, EPCOT will cost $24, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios will cost $29. All records for the highest prices since the debut of Lightning Lane Multi Pass.
As well, the month of October brings high prices for Lightning Lane Single Pass as well. Lightning Lane Single Pass is available for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, TRON Lightcycle / Run, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, Avatar Flight of Passage, and Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance.
On October 21st, we are seeing the highest prices yet for Lightning Lane Single Pass for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train ($14), TRON Lightcycle / Run ($22), Avatar Flight of Passage ($18), and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind ($19). Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance costs $25, but we have seen this price a fair amount since the debut of Lightning Lane Single Pass on July 24th.
When looking back at last year’s prices for Genie+, we also saw prices begin to increase as we entered into October 2023. Prices generally stayed higher through the end of the year, with even higher prices around Thanksgiving and Christmas time. We will continue to monitor prices as we enter into the holiday season which is one of the busiest times of year at Disney World.
Higher Lightning Lane Prices can often indicate that Disney is expecting the parks to be more crowded, but if you are headed to Disney World soon, know that you can still have an amazing time even with crowds! Know your biggest priorities, take advantage of shorter waits first thing in the morning and last thing at night, utilize the My Disney Experience app, and try to plan where you want to eat in advance. Make sure you take breaks and enjoy your time in the parks.

This is so complicated and time consuming. i have longed believed in the KISS system (keep it simple stupid). Pay a fee and you get fast entrance to every ride.

I’m going to be in Disney World next week, and I thought about buying Lightning Lane for the first time for our Magic Kingdom, but the price is $29, which is a little too much for me. So I probably won’t be buying Lightning Lane this trip.
