Ken Page, a Broadway star and actor who voiced Oogie Boogie, has passed away.
The St. Louis native had a prolific career that included numerous Broadway shows, films, and TV shows.
Ken Page passed away at age 70 on Monday, September 29th. Ken Page is best known by Disney fans for voicing Oogie Boogie in The Nightmare Before Christmas and spin-offs, including the Kingdom Hearts games. You can also hear his iconic voice throughout the Disney Parks, including during the Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party.
In addition to voicing Oogie Boogie, he was also a prolific Broadway star who starred in stage productions, including “The Wiz,” “Cats,” “Ain’t Misbehavin’,” “Little Shop of Horrors,” Les Misérables,” and more. But his credits don’t end there, as he has also worked on various films and TV shows such as All Dogs Go to Heaven and Charmed.
According to Fox 2, Ken Page was born and raised in St. Louis. He attended Bishop Dubourg High School and later attended Fontbonne College, where he majored in theater on a full scholarship.
