Disney+ always has fresh binge-worthy content available on its service. But when it’s ‘in with the new’ it also means ‘out with the old’.
And sometimes, ‘the old’ are classic favorites that truly make us sad when we notice it’s no longer available. Here’s a look at these iconic movies that have been pulled this month from Disney+.
It has officially been confirmed that four of the Indiana Jones films are no longer available to watch on Disney+.
All five Indiana Jones films were available to stream on the service until this month, October 2024, and now only one film of the series remains: Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.
This is sad news for Indiana Jones fans, but if you’re still willing to watch the films on another streaming service, Paramount+ has the four films available: Raiders of the Lost Ark, The Temple of Doom, The Last Crusade, and The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.
And if you’re headed to Disney World anytime soon, you can get your Indiana Jones fix in person by checking out Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular at Hollywood Studios. This is a live-action stunt show that recreates many iconic action sequences from the films in front of a live audience. This is a must-watch for Indy fans and lovers of action!
And at Disney Springs you can head over to Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar and enjoy some drinks and small bites inspired by Indy’s pilot friend from Raiders of the Lost Ark. Not only is the presentation of these drinks and eats totally epic, but it’s also incredibly delicious!
Although news of these classic films getting taken off Disney+ is sad for many of us, lots of titles go in and out of the streaming service and we’re hoping that they’ll be available once again sometime soon!

This is why all streaming services are bad. They only show what THEY want you to see! I spend my money on dvds so I can watch whatever I want, when I want! Last Crusade is my fave Indy movie. As for Disney+ (to which I used to subscribe until they raised the price), there were some fun shows and behind the scenes series but many of their old movies and tv shows were never available… and that’s their own titles! Paramount+ has an argument with Amazon Fire so I can’t access any of their offerings. IMHO, streaming services just live to take your money but not necessarily give a lot in return. I can survive without them!

Disney did not want their Disney+ viewers being reminded of how good the 1st and 3rd Indiana Jones movies are, compared to the last several releases.

Again, this is why I still invest in physical media as it can’t be taken away by the whims of corporations. I’d be pretty furious if the only way I could watch these movies had been taken away and all I was left with is the only Indy flick that made me physically angry by the end of it.

Nope. This will be reversed. Indiana Jones is a franchise and can’t be removed.

Dial of Destiny was good, a much more fitting movie for the farewell that it most likely represents than Crystal Skull. But to take all of the other movies off the service? I suppose it is probably to increase buzz ahead of the new attraction coming to AK. Then, when the attraction is set to open, Disney+ can bring back the movies with a great flourish. It’s hard to choose a favorite among the other 3. I can’t choose between Mary, Short Round, or Sean Connery. This is why I still believe in having my own copies of movies I love, not just digital but discs.

Do you know the reason why they removed the movies? It’s odd since they’re building the new ride at Animal Kingdom
Eric says
ROTLA is the best of the series and quite possibly Spielberg’s best film.
Barbara says
So they kept the worst of the Indiana Jones films, the one that lost $134 million. Stupid decision.
Scoop says
Too bad. The old Lucas Film movies are the only ones worth watching. The new stuff is really bad storytelling.
