BIG NEWS! Something HUGE has happened at Disney World’s upcoming Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers restaurant.
This restaurant will have both a sit-down dining room and a quick-service bakery counter, and it’s located at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn. We’ve been following its construction for a LONG time, and we can’t wait to go inside and check out all the food and drinks, and now we’re one step closer to doing just that (and we are SO ready).
So what’s our big news? The construction walls have officially come down at The Cake Bake Shop! That means the restaurant is one step closer to opening. Now, we don’t have an official opening date just yet, but we’re getting there, don’t you think?
More importantly, though, we managed to check out the restaurant’s menu, which is posted outside the entrance. WE FINALLY HAVE THE MENU, Y’ALL. So here’s what it looks like.
You’ll find a variety of Breakfast and Brunch items here, including Cocktails like a Mimosa and Bloody Mary, along with eats like Breakfast Cake (cake for breakfast? YES, PLEASE!), eggs, salads, waffles, French toast, pancakes, quiche, croques, croissants, as well as a variety of sides and beverages, including alcoholic beverages, non-alcoholic beverages, and coffee.
Lunch and dinner includes appetizers like Gumbo Poutine (SAY WHAT?), Crab Cakes, Pesto Burrata, and more. A variety of Quiches, Sandwiches, Soups, and Salads are also available. Entrees include a Burger, Chicken Piccata, Steak Frites, and more. You can also order a variety of cocktails, champagne, wines, and beer.
Okay, but it’s the SWEET treats you’ll be able to get here that have us drooling. We’re talking a variety of pies, cookies, cheesecakes, French pastries (macarons!), homemade fudge, chocolate truffles, and more. But now, WILL YOU LOOK AT THESE GLORIOUS CAKES? Note that there are TWO pumpkin cakes on the menu, making us think these are seasonal additions, perhaps hinting at an opening date coming up SOON?
We previously shared a photo of the restaurant’s sign all lit up at night and it looks absolutely magical — it’s definitely got that Disney feel to it, right?
This new restaurant will serve brunch, lunch, dinner, and an afternoon tea service. We can’t wait to check out the champagne bar, too! Disney has said that the Cake Bake Shop will have a “whimsical atmosphere that complements the magic of the idyllic charm of Disney’s BoardWalk that guests know and love.”
If you just want to grab a quick treat, you can stop at the to-go bakery case to check out cookies, pastries, cake, and more.
The menu at existing Cake Bake Shop locations features savory items like Truffle Pommes Frites, Quiche, Sandwiches, and more. Of course, TONS of cakes, pies, and other sweet treats are featured on the menu, too, including French pastries, cheesecake, and other goodies.
We were able to learn more about Gwendolyn Rogers, including details about her sources of inspiration, her excitement about this new partnership with Disney World, what Afternoon Tea Service is like, and MUCH more (like her favorite Disney World EATS!) — in an EXCLUSIVE DFB interview — click here to check it out!

Did u see the pricing of the BEVERAGES?? $8 for coke zero?! That’s double of theme park pricing. Does it come in a golden chalice? Can’t wait to see this when it opens.
Joni Neibert says
Yay, finally.
Please let us know asap when we can make reservations
Jackie says
LMAO at these prices. Good luck. This place will be gone in less than a year.

I live in the Indianapolis area and have been to the Carmel location several times. Here their pumpkin items are seasonal, so that should indicate they will be opening soon.
Their food is just good for the price. A restaurant called Cake Bake it is really all about the dessert.
My favorite cake by far is the Millionaire Cake followed by the Raspberry Champagne Cake. The lemon bars and raspberry bars are really good as are the birthday cake and rose macarons.
My absolute favorite dessert is their blueberry pie. It is a seasonal summer offering and is incredibly delicious. So many blueberries with a light lemon flavor and a wonderful crust. Sweet but not too sweet. The best thing on their menu and the perfect dessert. Hands down. I hope they bring it to Disney during the summer.

Are you kidding me??? Those prices are outrageous, even for DIsney
Lola says
I’m sorry, but who in their right mind is paying $12 for a croissant? Even by Disney standards, some of those prices are crazy.
Kristin says
My mouth is agape. I am a huge cake snob, but those prices are ridiculous. I was looking forward to going there during my next trip but
I will be skipping this and continuing on with my journey of enjoying actual Disney World cupcakes!

I know my vision isn’t as good as once, but if I see the cost of items on the menu I can understand why people think WDW is the King of highway robbery. Maybe with an impending hurricane apparently headed toward WDW and the area the wind will blow through the ears of the planners at setting the prices at the new baake shop on Boardwalk to more sensible price scheduling.
McRigs says
Those prices are INSANE….especially since there are fantastic restaurants in walking distance to there for extremely less. Looks fun, but HARD PASS.
Robert Allen says
The menu looked disappointing. It really doesn’t look like a place i would go out of my way to eat there. Im sure what they have will be good food, but i can find most of those items in places that are not out of the way.
Jemma says
The prices are ridiculous even by Disney standards. Eggs any style $26….EGGS!!!!
Mike Venere says
C’mon….i guess this is the new Disney with outrageous prices on everything.
$20 plus for a slice of cake?
Sorry….ill just walk by.
Neoncactus says
$32 for a hamburger? $28 for a quiche. That tells me everything I need to know about Gwendolyn Rogers. The food couldn’t possibly be as good as it needs to be to charge those insane prices. Especially considering her prices in Indiana are $8-10 less.
Tammy says
I had thought I wanted to try this but those prices are outrageous. I’ll skip. Even for Disney this is ridiculous pricing.
Nick says
Sandwiches range from 28-36. That’s wild. These prices are insane – if I pay $36 for a croque monseur it better be jammed packed and imported.
Brooksc says
I do not care how good the food is. No meal on this menu is worth this cost. Those are fine dining prices for not a fine dining establishment.
And while this is not a “Disney” establishment, it is on Disney property. The cost of the food there will be attributed to Disney and their already excessive prices.
Disney really needs to rethink their pricing structure because they are currently pricing out most people. In fact, we decided to not go to Disney for my daughter’s high school graduation. We are going to Dollywood since our money can go much farther in that area.
Rockster says
If you are staying at the boardwalk and have a car, there is a Taco Bell less than 5 miles away as well as many other options.
We love Disney but only go there for the rides and site seeing. Spending obscene amounts of money on food is down right wasteful.
We eat on the cheap no matter where we vacation. If it’s in the US, we try to hit Whole Foods hot and cold bar to we eat at Taco Bell
Dennis Witz says
Totally ridiculous prices!! Who is the idiot that came up with a $32 hamburger???? On sale I can buy 3 excellent T-bone steaks! Disney is nuts!!
Jb says
Those prices are ridiculous, pass.
Diana says
Prices will keep me far away.
Good luck.
Elizabeth says
Normally I take prices at Disney with a small shrug since it IS Disney and everything is overpriced…but I just sawtge biggest charge I have ever seen for something that is usually the cheapest item on a menu….$26 for yogurt with granola and berries!!!! What in that is worth the price of a steak dinner at home?? Do they make the yogurt from scratch and grow their own berries??
Carol says
I was looking forward to the opening but not after seeing the prices. They’re outrageous. Many people are blaming disney for the prices. I’m not sure they have anything to do with the pricing of non-disney restaurants.
Cindy C. says
So very disappointed by these prices. I was sooo looking forward to this opening, but now I don’t know what to think. I guess Gwendolyn must make a profit, of course, but I think Disney must be charging her so much she felt compelled to charge these prices so Disney gets its cut. It’s Disney price gouging once again. Walt disrespected once more. 🙁
Kind of wish you’d open in Disney Springs. Maybe they’d be a little more forgiving with the rent.
Larry says
The prices are insane, crazy and STUPID!!! What consumer study group got together and thought these prices were a recipe for success? There is no possibility of me taking a trip to eat here alone, let alone with a family.
Can’t wait to see what opens up in it’s place
Coral Schober says
$78 for a charcuterie board!!! It better feed 5-7 people for that price!!! I serve one with items imported directly from Spain every year at Christmas and for $100, I serve 10-15 people items that they cannot otherwise get here in the States!!!!
Al says
As a fellow Brit, I am crying a the price for a pot of English breakfast tea 😱 $10!!
And a SIDE salad being $12?! interested to see how it does at this rate, such a shame!
Kelly S. says
Like many of the previous comments, I was really looking forward to this place opening until I was staying at the Boardwalk last week and saw the prices. $20+ for a slice of cake?! I LOVE a good cake and wanted to try these, but when I can go to Gideons and get a slice for less than half the cost of this – HARD PASS for me. I am sure the cakes are delicious, but so are Gideons. That is just insanity! I have seen some short videos of folks who have gone in and it wasn’t clear if it was a soft opening or a media event. I will say it is beautiful, but just NO with those prices.
