Fall is here! Although Disney World has been celebrating Halloween far before the season officially started.

However, fall is an important time for Disney as it has an attraction to deliver. A lot of the time, Disney uses seasons as a way to say something is opening without having to get a specific date. For example, when we got more information on the opening timeline of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, we just knew that it would open in summer 2024 after being moved up from the original timeline of late 2024. Once Disney was confident enough to give an exact date, it was announced that the attraction would open on June 28th, 2024. Another example of this is going on in Animal Kingdom right now. It was announced that Zootopia: Better Zoogether!, the show that is replacing It’s Tough to be a Bug!, will open in the winter of 2025. See? No exact date, and instead, a time frame. Well, the clock is ticking for one Hollywood Studios attraction that is set to open this fall.
When the parks re-opened after the pandemic, many entertainment offerings were limited. One show has yet to re-open in Hollywood Studios, and that is the Voyage of the Little Mermaid.

At the end of 2023, it was revealed that a new Little Mermaid show would take the current place of Voyage of the Little Mermaid in the Animation Courtyard. The new show is called The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure and is set to open this fall.

Well, fall just started, and we are still waiting to hear any news about this show. We did the math, so you don’t have to. At the time of this post’s publication to the Winter Solstice (which marks the end of fall and the start of winter) on December 21st, there are only 75 days left of fall. This means Disney has 75 days to meet the attraction’s opening timeline.

We are not too sure the attraction will open on time as we have not heard anything but, we have recently spotted construction walls in the Animation Courtyard where the show building is.

The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure is not the only new show coming to Hollywood Studios. Today, October 7th, is the last day to visit Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy. The attraction is being turned into a brand-new Disney Villains stage show.

These two new shows will mean that Hollywood Studios will get even more live entertainment on top of For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration, Beauty and the Beast—Live on Stage, and the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular!

I heard that the new Little Mermaid show will not have “Poor Unfortunate Souls,” so we probably won’t go unless we have time to kill. At least they are bringing back “Kiss the Girl,” which shows that sometimes Disney does listen to its fans.
I was really hoping this would be open by my mid November trip. It’s been one of mine & my daughter’s favor shows. We would always go see it, just the two of us. The music is so great!
