Disney is no stranger to releasing some pretty epic merchandise.
Over the years we’ve seen incredibly detailed LEGO sets, Minnie ears that are so beautiful they blow our minds, crystal art creations that cost hundreds if not thousands of dollars and look worth every cent, and of course, some replicas of popular Disney movie props that have our jaws on the floor. And honestly, sometimes looking at these expensive items, we’re wondering if we really live in a world where people BUY them.
Are We…Are We SURE These Aren’t Real??
On the Disney Store website right now you can grab the incredible Star Wars: The Clone Wars Limited Edition Lightsaber Hilt Set and…y’all are we sure these aren’t actual real life Lightsaber hilts? These things are incredibly detailed and look just like they do in the series. Most importantly, why else would you want to spend $550 on them?
They come in a carrying case that safely houses each hilt, but that’s just the think — these are JUST the hilts. The Lightsaber blade must be purchased separately, and then you can swap out whichever hilt you’d like to use. There are only 3,000 of these available, and Disney highlights that this isn’t signed, which makes us shudder to think what it would cost if it WAS signed!
Marvel Fans, This is Serious Dedication
If you’re a big Captain America fan, you may want to chuck your wallet away from you real quick, because while we think this Captain America Limited Edition Damaged Shield seen in Avengers: Endgame is super cool…we cannot believe it’s $400 (!!!!). No, we’re not kidding. Yes, there are only 1,500 in the world, it has authentic light and sound effects, and it’s MASSIVE, that’s still a bigger price tag than we were ever expecting.
Check it out, we’re not kidding
And just real quick, remember when we were talking about those crystal statues earlier? To put these two items into perspective, let’s take a look at ultimately one of the most expensive Disney souvenirs we’ve ever seen, which is this Beacons of Magic Spaceship Earth Crystal Statue that was available for a whopping $99,000.
Was it one of the most beautiful things we’ve ever seen? Could we imagine paying essentially the down payment on a house for it? No, not at all. EPCOT, we love you, but not enough for that.
As always, stay tuned to DFB for all the latest Disney merchandise news!
