One of the best souvenirs at Disney has nothing to do with Disney at all…

As anyone who’s been to Walt Disney World knows, there are literally thousands of souvenirs you can bring back from the resort on any given visit. Some of the most interesting can be found in EPCOT’s World Showcase, where each of the international pavilions features goods from the country they represent.
One of the most interesting can be found in World Showcase’s United Kingdom pavilion, specifically in The Crown & Crest shop. According to Disney, guests at the shop can “get a UK crest on a mug or your family coat of arms on a plaque. Shop Beatles bric-a-brac, Rose & Crown merchandise and more.”
It’s the “family coat of arms” that we’re focusing on today. Once you enter the shop, you can speak to a specialist Cast Member who can help research your specific family crest via name. The shop’s database has access to crests from all over the world, which makes it highly likely that they’ll be able to find something for any name presented to them.
Crown & Crest
Once your crest is located, the cast member can tell you what each color, symbol, and animal on your crest represents, and what traits each symbolizes. Be sure to check out all the crests on display — the shop will often have crests representing celebrities, well-known figures, and even occasionally fictional characters.

Once your crest has been explained to you, you’re free to purchase several different types of specialized items featuring your family crest including a print, flasks, knick-knacks, and even a dagger.

Of note, you can find out the information for free. However, you are NOT allowed to take any photos or videos of the crest if you’re not purchasing anything.
The Crown & Crest
While a family crest may not scream Walt Disney World or feature any of the company’s IP, the information it reveals about one’s family and ancestry arguably makes it one of the most personally meaningful souvenirs that you can bring back from Disney World.
