It can be difficult to avoid the rain when visiting Disney World. That’s why it’s so important you come prepared with the right equipment.
What you’re wearing can make or break your Disney World vacation, especially when the weather is inclement. Take it from us, if a storm hits and you’re not wearing the proper shoes, you’re guaranteed a miserable experience. That’s why we polled our team and found THE BEST shoes to wear when it rains at Disney World!
Chaco Sandals
It might sound weird, but one of our favorite picks to wear in the rain is actually sandals! The Chaco Women’s Z/1 Classic Sandals are big winners with us. In our experience, they grip really well as opposed to most other flip-flops and dry fairly fast. This particular pair on Amazon comes in several different sizes and colors while featuring anti-stink properties for odor control and durable high-tensile webbing heel risers.
Crocs has a large fanbase, and if you’re a part of it, you won’t want to miss this next pick!
It’s hard to go wrong with Crocs Unisex-Adult Classic Clogs! These shoes are known for their personality and comfort, and this particular pair on Amazon comes in several different sizes and colors.
We’ve gone sandal-heavy so far, so why break the trend?
Hey, kids and folks with smaller feet go to Disney World when it rains, too. One could argue that’s actually Disney World’s largest demographic! If you or someone you know fits this description, we recommend Cat & Jack sandals! These are great alternatives to sneakers as they have adjustable straps and grip really well. This particular pair is available via Target and comes in seven different sizes and seven different colors.

The last shoe we want to recommend isn’t a shoe at all!
Sometimes, you already have the perfect shoes and just want to protect them. In that case, we recommend Silicone Waterproof Shoe Covers. These can go over your sneakers to protect them from rainfall and puddles while giving you solid slip resistance. You can pick up a pair on Amazon and choose from three different fits and seven different colors.

Maggie says
I’ve really struggled with finding the right shoes for D’world: they need to be able to be exposed to rain and watery walking surface but also all of that in 80F heat. Tall order! I tried some Sketchers shoes with a kind of open mesh but they were like strapping little ovens on my feet. I don’t live in a climate like central FL, so I couldn’t try them out before I went. So, those were a bit of a loss. I like Crocks for being super light, ventilated but with a real sole but the problem is with the sole – it feels like there’s no tread at all and I slip and slide around too much so I can’t wear those either. I haven’t heard of Cat & Jack (I guess the Berkenstock patent must have expired, because that style looks VERY familiar) but would be interested if the tread could keep me feeling safe from slipping.
