We might be Disney World pros, but we still occasionally make mistakes in Disney World.
Maybe we forgot to pack our rain gear, even though we know how finicky Florida weather can be. Maybe we forgot to try to get a virtual queue for Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind and then all spots are gone and we’ll have to pay for Lightning Lane Single Pass if we want to ride it. We also do a lot of people-watching in Disney World and see how there are some things in Disney World that are so confusing that often throw people off. Well, we’ve got one particular thing in Magic Kingdom to point out that you’ll want to be aware of.
So let’s head on over to Fantasyland and look at two attractions that are next to each other. One is Under the Sea – Journey of The Little Mermaid, which is an actual ride that retells the story of The Little Mermaid movie.
Right NEXT to the ride is Ariel’s Grotto, which is a meet-and-greet spot to meet Ariel.
So here’s a screenshot of the Disney World map from the website just to show you how close these two attractions are — they’re next to each other. Do you see where we’re going with this?
So you’ve got TWO Little Mermaid attractions, one a ride and the other a meet-and-greet, and they’re side by side, meaning their lines are also next to each other. Well, we’ve seen it: People will sometimes end up in the wrong line. Sure, they know they’re in a line for something Little Mermaid, but they might not know which line they’re in. We recently saw a frustrated group who ended up waiting in the wrong line.
This can get especially confusing on those days when the lines are long and it’s hard to determine which is which. When the lines get really long, you should see a Cast Member with a sign at the end of each line that will tell you what that line is for. If in doubt, though, just ask a Cast Member and they’ll make sure you get to where you’re going.
