The sun is shining, the tank is clean, and you are ready for an amazing day at Disney World!
But then your phone lights up with a notification that no one wants to get. While there are LOTS of notifications we would love to see on our phone (you got upgraded, free food for everyone, etc.), there are also a few notifications that we would rather not see.
Let’s take a look at some notifications that NO ONE wants to see on their phone, and how you can turn the situation around!
Weather Alert
Disney World is known for frequent thunderstorms and downpours, but we never want to see a weather alert come across our phone. Depending on the alert, it can feel really scary! We have seen alerts for tornadoes, flash flooding, hurricanes, and more. Especially with weather alerts that come out of the blue, it can cause a bit of panic.
The good news is that Disney is also monitoring current weather conditions, and they are looking out for the safety of their Cast Members and guests. If you get one of these alerts, read the alert carefully and take the necessary precautions to ensure your group stays safe. No need to panic!
Your Hotel Room Is Not Ready Yet
It always seems more frustrating in the moment, but it is never fun to find out that your hotel room isn’t ready yet. Luckily, it will be ready eventually, but the hopes and dreams of laying down on the soft bed for a bit quickly goes out the window. Depending on your plans, you can always have your luggage stored at the hotel until your room is ready and do a bit of exploring around the resort. You can also grab some food or just hang out in the lobby.
You can even head into the parks while you wait for your room to be ready! Don’t let a hotel room not being ready yet keep you from having some fun. Then you can keep checking on the My Disney Experience app or with the Front Desk to find out when your room is ready.
“We’ve Modified Your Plans”
Maybe Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance went down…yet again. Or maybe it was another ride that you had a Lightning Lane Multi Pass or Lightning Lane Single Pass for. If a ride goes down while you had a pass for the Lightning Lane, you will get a notification that your plans have been modified.
When a ride goes down when you have a Lightning Lane Pass Multi Pass, you are automatically issued a Multiple Experiences Pass. If you had a Lightning Lane Single Pass, you will automatically be issued a pass to return to that ride once it has reopened. While it is definitely a bummer to get this notification, rides do go down occasionally for technical issues and weather (for outdoor rides).
The good news is that you don’t even have to do anything special, as a pass that is good for whenever will be automatically issued to you. You can check for the pass in the My Disney Experience app for all the details, and rides that you can use it at. If you had a Lightning Lane Multi Pass, you will be able to use the issued pass at one of the rides from the list, if it was a Lightning Lane Single Pass, you will only be able to use the issued pass at the attraction you had the pass for.
No More Virtual Queues Groups Are Available
You managed to make it up in time to be on the My Disney Experience app at 7AM to try for the virtual queue. However, when you go to join the queue, you get a notification that there are no more groups available. Bummer. Know what, though? There is some good news! You can try joining the queue again at 1PM as long as you have already scanned into that park, or you can always try joining the virtual queue on a different day.
Currently, the following attractions utilize a virtual queue: Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind in EPCOT and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Magic Kingdom. There is no stand-by line available for these attractions, and you will only be able to experience them with a virtual queue or Lightning Lane Pass.
There is also the possibility that you might be able to snag a Lightning Lane pass for the attraction if you didn’t get a virtual queue. Although that is pending availability and since you can now make your selections in advance with Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Lightning Lane Single Pass, you may have a harder time using this as a back-up. However, you never know what might be available, so it doesn’t hurt to check! If all else fails, there are still SO many great attractions you can ride at Disney World. Forget that virtual queue ride even existed and enjoy your day in the park!
Certain Texts from Friends and Family
While you may love them, your traveling group can sometimes get on your last nerve! It wouldn’t be the same without them, but sometimes you just have to laugh at some of the notifications you might get from them. All part of the experience, right? From texts about meeting up at 6AM in the morning when you were hoping to sleep in, to requests for a ride that you can’t stand, sometimes we don’t like seeing notifications from our traveling group. But getting to spend time with them is what really makes the vacation magical! Plus, seeing others experience Disney World oftentimes is the highlight of our trip.

There are no more mobile order slots available. This happened at my hotel during the hurricane. The restaurant was still open, with crazy long lines to order at the registers.
