Have you ever used Lightning Lanes in Disneyland Resort?
Disneyland Resort currently uses the Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Lightning Lane Single Pass system like Disney World does, except it’s a bit different on the West Coast. In Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure, you can only book your Lightning Lane Multi Pass options one at a time, just like how you did with the former Disney Genie+ system. But what if you’re fed up with all that refreshing, booking, and app-using? Well, they’re about to roll out a new offering.
Disneyland Resort has just announced they’ll be introducing an option called Lightning Lane Premier Pass. They will begin piloting the rollout of Lightning Lane Premier Pass on October 23rd, 2024, with very limited quantities available.
Premier Pass will give you access to every Lightning Lane once per day, including available Lightning Lane Single Pass options (the more popular rides that you pay individually for). With Premier Pass, you won’t need to choose a return time, you can just hop in the Lightning Lane when you’re ready. You’ll also get unlimited downloads of Disney PhotoPass digital photos from your day, as well as Disney PhotoPass lenses.
Lightning Lane Premier Passes can be purchased up to 2 days before your visit starting at 7AM Pacific time. These are subjected to very limited availability. Before you purchase, everyone in your party will need valid park admission and park reservations for that date. Lightning Lane Premier Pass will be available to purchase in the Disneyland app.
So how much does it cost? Well, Disney has shared that “Lightning Lane Premier Pass will be priced at $400 per person, per day for park visits through December 31, 2024. Beginning in 2025, pricing will vary by date and demand within a $300 to $400 range.” That’s a pretty hefty price tag!
You can make the most of using your Premier Pass by visiting both Disneyland Resort theme parks in the same day — it offers Lightning Lane access to all the attractions with Lightning Lane entrances in both Disneyland and California Adventure.
We’ll make sure to share more updates and keep you in the loop as we learn more about this system. Stay tuned to DFB as we test it out ourselves!

So to clarify that’s $400 on top of park ticket?
Ronjon says
For years I complained that the Disney parks should have a front of the line pass like they do at the Universal parks. So I was happy to hear they finally are such a pass at the Disney parks. That is until they reviled the price for the pass. They are asking way too much for the pass. Yeah Universal charges $200.00 for their unlimited, but that is for both parks.
Disney’s price wouldn’t be that bad if it was for all the parks, not just one for one park only. It is in my opinion, they don’t really want to have any front of the line passes privileges, so they they priced out most people and only a few will pay the price for the passes. Hopefully not enough people will buy the passes for the price their asking and they will drop the price. Or at least make one pass for all parks.

I find the pricing to be obscene particularly when it is in addition to the ever increasing park ticket prices. I do not believe this is in keeping with Walt’s vision for the park. At what price will the Disney executives greed finally be quenched ? It makes me sad to think of how many families are being priced out of getting to experience a trip to Disneyland.

That is absolutely insane. I have no idea what Disney corp. is thinking these days… $400/person on top of your ticket price is stupid. I’d rather hire a private guide for that kind of money.
I’m sure some people will pay the fee, but I cannot imagine that there will be an over abundance of people doing so.
So disappointing.
