We can’t imagine life without Disney+, although the streaming service has only been around since 2019.
However, with it being spooky season, we’ve been watching some of our favorite Halloween movies on the service, including Hocus Pocus, Halloweentown, and more! And now that Disney+ and Hulu can be combined with one service, it’s even better. Now, you might have previously seen that Disney+ subscribers are facing a price increase, and Disney is sending out emails with more details.
These price increases go into effect today, October 17th. The ad-supported version of Disney+ will go up by $2 to $9.99 per month, while the Premium version without ads will also go up by $2 to $15.99 per month. Hulu with ads will also increase by $2 to $9.99 per month, while the ad-free Hulu plan will go up by $1 to $18.99 per month.
The Disney triple-play bundles are also going up by $2: The Disney Bundle Trio will go up to $16.99 per month, while the Disney Bundle Trio Premium plan will be $26.99 per month. This is the bundle that includes Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+.
We’ve got good news for those who subscribe to the Duo Basic plan, though (Disney+ and Hulu with ads) and the Duo Premium bundle (Disney+ and Hulu without ads). Those two plans will stay at their current prices, as will the Disney+, Hulu, and Max bundles with and without ads.
These new prices are now in effect and will be reflected on your next billing statement as long as you don’t cancel or change your service before then. Note that Disney did just add new continuous live TV offerings on their site, too, including ABC News Live and other live TV offerings.

I paid $69.99 a year (with NO ads as well) when it first launched. The fact the same plan now costs me $159.99 a year is insane. Pure corporate greed in part, I wish they’d just ax all their horrible “original” content they’re trying to keep afloat with all the new fees. Give me just the classic and new film/animation releases and I’ll be good.

I have Duo Basic plan, (Disney+ and Hulu with ads). Hulu, plus from that offering. Are they also going to be dropping the rate I have to pay? They’re constantly changing everything. People like consistency. Dependability is not a dirty word. DISNEY is not dependable. Many of my relatives of just dropped Disney+. They also just don’t like the Disney attitude of not caring what their customers think or want. Walt would be shocked At what they’ve done to his legacy.

Please add to above comment: They are dropping Hulu from that offering of Duo Basic plan. (Computer glitch). That’s what the email said. I didn’t mention any change in pricing.
