We’ve been waiting, speculating, and making predictions for months. We’ve been analyzing concept art. We’ve been close reading any and all Universal announcements in hopes of finding hints about the opening date. But finally — FINALLY! The wait is over. We have an official opening date for Universal’s NEW Epic Universe park.
This new theme park is gonna be BIG — it’s got five special “worlds,” more than 50 experiences, and even a new hotel called the Universal Helios Grand Hotel! Now, with so much to look forward to, it should come as no surprise that Universal is anticipating high demand. But what does that mean for ticket sales? Well…it’s a little complicated.
The first thing you need to know is that Epic Universe tickets will be sold in phases. During the first phase of sales, the general public will NOT be able to purchase single-day tickets to Epic Universe.
Universal teased that single-day tickets for the general public, additional multi-day ticket options, Florida resident tickets, Universal Express passes, and more will be available “at a later date before the park opens.”
That means the first batch of Universal Epic Universe tickets does NOT include Florida Resident discounted tickets, one or two-day Epic Universe ticket options, or Express Passes for Universal Epic Universe. All of those options will be launched at a later date before the park opens.
Now, the first phase of tickets will go on sale on October 22nd. At this time, Universal will offer a variety of multi-day tickets and vacation packages, including three, four, or five days of admission to Universal’s theme parks with ONE day of admission to Epic Universe.
Additionally, Annual Passholders will have the exclusive option to purchase single-day tickets to Universal Epic Universe BEFORE they go on sale to the general public — Passholders can purchase tickets starting Thursday, October 24th.
Here’s a look at the multi-day ticket options that will go on sale on October 22nd*:
- 3-Day Ticket: enjoy two days of access to Universal Studios Florida and Universal Islands of Adventure, plus one separate day of admission to Universal Epic Universe
- 4-Day Ticket: enjoy three days of access to Universal Studios Florida and Universal Islands of Adventure, plus one separate day admission to Universal Epic Universe
- 5-Day Ticket: enjoy four days of access to Universal Studios Florida and Universal Islands of Adventure, plus one separate day admission to Universal Epic Universe
*You can also add access to Universal Volcano Bay to any ticket option
If you’re interested in a longer stay, you can create your own vacation package! Universal explained that you can save up to $200 by bundling a 2-night stay (or longer) at a Universal hotel with one of the multi-day ticket options above. Speaking of hotels, reservations for Universal Helios Grand Hotel will open on Tuesday, October 22nd, for stays beginning May 22nd, 2025.
If you want to take advantage of that maximum savings of $200 with a 7-night vacation package, you will get:
- A 5-day ticket that includes four days of access to Universal Studios, Universal Islands of Adventure, and Universal Volcano Bay, plus a separate day admission to Universal Epic Universe
- 7-night hotel accommodations at one of Universal Orlando’s 11 resorts
- Early Park Admission for Universal Epic Universe, Universal Volcano Bay, and either Universal Studios Florida or Universal Islands of Adventure up to one hour before the park opens
Now, let’s talk about the good news. For one thing, you do NOT need to specify the date that you plan to visit Universal Epic Universe when purchasing a multi-day ticket for three days or longer. Universal notes that you only need to indicate the first date you want your overall ticket to be valid. Once you have a start date, you can visit ANY of the parks beginning on that date. Additionally, you can change the date of your ticket via the self-service tool on the Universal Orlando website. If the price increases from your original date to your new date, be prepared to pay the difference.
Universal also confirmed that if you purchase a ticket, you are guaranteed to be able to visit Universal Epic Universe. Universal stated, “Ticket inventory and capacity will be controlled to allow each guest who purchases an Epic Universe-inclusive ticket to visit the park for one day during the course of the validity window of their ticket.”
Now that we’ve covered the basics regarding Epic Universe tickets let’s talk about what you should do to prepare. If you’re planning to purchase tickets on October 22nd (or October 24th if you’re an Annual Passholder), our biggest tip is to BE FLEXIBLE! Tickets are likely going to sell out quickly, so, if possible, give yourself a range of dates that could work. Make sure your credit card is saved online and ready to go so you can move through checkout quickly.
In our experience, it helps to have the webpage open BEFORE tickets officially go on sale. So, for example, if tickets were set to go on sale at 9AM EST, you might want to pull up the page as early as 8:15–8:30AM EST. When you’re buying those tickets, there’s no time to hesitate — you have to be fully prepared to commit once it’s your turn to buy tickets.
We hope these little tips help you prepare for the big day! If you’re planning to purchase tickets on October 22nd, we wish you good luck, swift fingers, and a smooth internet connection.
