It’s finally happening! We have an official opening date for Universal Orlando’s Epic Universe, and the hype is REAL.

Epic Universe will bring an entirely new theme park to Universal Orlando with five themed lands, and we can imagine that EVERYONE is going to want to get their hands on tickets before it opens on May 22nd, 2025. Well, you’ll want to know HOW to get your hands on those tickets, so we’ve put together a guide to help you out (warning, though: it might not be EASY to score those tickets right away).

Know WHEN you can buy tickets and what tickets you can get

First, you’ll need to know that tickets for Epic Universe will be sold in phases. During the first phase, the general public will NOT be able to purchase single-day tickets to the park when tickets go on sale on October 22nd. Eventually, though, the general public will be able to purchase single-day tickets, additional multi-day ticket options, Florida resident tickets, Universal Express passes, and more. Universal hinted these will be available before the park opens.

That said, Universal Orlando Annual Passholders WILL be able to buy single-day tickets BEFORE the general public starting on October 24th. So the first thing you might want to do, if you want single-day tickets, is get an Annual Pass.

Otherwise, the first phase of tickets go on sale on October 22nd. You’ll be able to purchase a variety of multi-day tickets and vacation packages, including three, four, or five days of admission to Universal’s theme parks with ONE day of admission to Epic Universe. Here are the ticket options that will be available (you can also add Volcano Bay to any ticket option):

• 3-Day Ticket: enjoy two days of access to Universal Studios Florida and Universal Islands of Adventure, plus one separate day of admission to Universal Epic Universe
• 4-Day Ticket: enjoy three days of access to Universal Studios Florida and Universal Islands of Adventure, plus one separate day admission to Universal Epic Universe
• 5-Day Ticket: enjoy four days of access to Universal Studios Florida and Universal Islands of Adventure, plus one separate day admission to Universal Epic Universe

If you want to stay longer, you can also create your own vacation package (and even save up to $200 if you bundle a 2-night stay or longer at a Universal hotel with a multi-day ticket option). So, if you’re not a Univeral Annual Passholder, you’ll have to commit to at least several days at Universal.

Figure out when you want to start using the tickets

Okay, so you’ve decided on how many days you’re visiting Universal Orlando. Here’s the cool thing: you don’t need to pick a specific date when you buy a multi-day ticket for three days or longer. You’ll only need to indicate the first date you want the ticket to be valid — then you can visit ANY of the parks starting on that date. You can even change the date on the Universal Orlando website if your plans change. HOWEVER, note that if there’s a price increase from the original date you chose and the new date, you will have to pay the difference.

If you buy a multi-day ticket, you are also guaranteed one day at Epic Universe, so you won’t have to worry about that.

Be flexible with dates

It’s no secret that tickets for Epic Universe are going to be in GREAT demand for some time after it opens. That means if you’re planning on purchasing tickets when they go on sale, you’ll probably see dates sell out quickly.

You’ll want to have a range of dates in mind that could work for you because you may not get your first pick.

Preparation

If you plan on purchasing tickets as soon as they go on sale, you can save yourself some time by making sure your credit card details are already saved online through Universal’s website. This will allow you to save precious minutes checking out that could make or break the date you chose for your Universal Orlando visit.

You’ll also want to be on the tickets website BEFORE tickets officially go on sale. So, if tickets go on sale at 9AM EST, pull up the page at least 15-30 minutes early. You want to make sure you can grab those tickets as quickly as possible.

Once tickets go on sale, you’ll just need to choose the options you want for the tickets, select the date you want the tickets to start on, and check out.

After that, you’ll just need to start counting down the days til your Universal Orlando trip.
