Why Disney Fans Will Be GLUED to Their Screens on November 28th

Disney has always had a pretty big showing at the annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade in New York City.

We’ve previously scene floats devoted to Disney Cruise Line ships, as well as balloons dedicated to characters like Grogu from Star Wars (aka Baby Yoda). We’ve even seen a performance by the cast of The Lion King on Broadway to celebrate the show’s 25th anniversary in 2022. However, this year, we will see a FIRST for Disney in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade: a balloon devoted to Minnie Mouse.

Disney and Macy’s are celebrating 90 years of collaboration by debuting a Minnie Mouse float in the parade. Yes, it took 90 years to get Minnie her own float in this historic parade. The fashionista we know as Minnie will be sporting her signature red bow and yellow heels on a gigantic balloon. It’s about time! Here’s a sneak peek at what the new balloon will look like.

By comparison, the first Mickey balloon debuted in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade in 1934 — he appeared with balloon handlers who were dressed just like him. We’re not saying cue Taylor Swift’s The Man when we think about how long it took Minnie to get her own parade balloon, but…yeah…

However, Macy’s is also launching a new Minnie Mouse merchandise collection to celebrate all things Minnie Mouse. The collection is EXCLUSIVE to Macy’s and will feature new artwork by Disney artist Jeff Shelley. You’ll find clothing, beauty products, and collectibles — and it’s all about Minnie. You’ll even find some new pajama sets to snuggle into this fall and winter.
