Your 2025 trip to Disney World is almost here! (Can you believe it?)
As we were saying, with your trip right around the corner, you’ve really got no time to waste making all the preparations for the trip like what you’ll be packing, what you’ll be eating, and where you’ll be staying. Speaking of where you’ll stay, there are a couple of Disney World hotels that you’ll want to steer well clear of in 2025. Let’s go over them!
Let’s waste no time and dive right into the list of Disney World hotels that you’ll want to avoid in 2025 and why! Let’s go!
Bay Lake Tower
First up, Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort will be undergoing room refurbishment work from September 2024 to September 2025. You read that correctly — a whole year of construction work!
Expect to be seeing and hearing construction work in Bay Lake Tower, and that you might have to take detours. Typically Disney is really good about not doing any work early in the mornings or late in the evenings. But if you want to avoid any sort of construction at your Disney World hotel during your trip, you’ll want to skip staying at Bay Lake Tower.
Disney’s Yacht Club
Next up, Disney’s Yacht Club Resort will also be undergoing room refurbishment work from January 2025 through May 2025. We haven’t yet heard how extensive the work will be (we’ll keep you posted).
Sticking with Yacht Club, Stormalong Bay and Shipwreck Pool (which are shared by both Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts) will undergo routine maintenance from January 2025 to June 2025. These pools are some of the top pools at the Disney World resorts. Many people stay here just for the pool, so it’s a big deal that it will be closed for so long!
You can expect to hear construction noises during the day. Now, if you still want to spend time at a pool, the other pools at the hotel like the Tidal, Admiral, and Dunes Cove leisure pools will still be open.
Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort
Sticking with Disney World hotel pools, the Fantasia Pool over at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort will also undergo routine maintenance from January 2025 to April 2025.
While the refurbishment is happening, you can still get your pool day on at the Donald Duck pool since it will still be open.
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
While we couldn’t be more stoked for the Island Village Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Villas and Bungalows to open this December 2024, construction around the resort won’t be stopping any time soon.
In fact, Disney stated that the construction will go on until 2026, so if you’re planning on staying at the Polynesian Village Resort, you’ll most likely be hearing construction noise during the day.
Those are just a couple of closures in 2025 at Disney World that you should plan around. Until then, keep it right here at DFB for the latest Disney news!

Yep! My new hubby and I were going to take our honeymoon at WDW this past May, but couldn’t afford it AND my dream wedding (even though I did DIY most of the shindig and cut out a LOT of the unnecessary fluff people seem to think they need for weddings these days…) So, we decided to put it off until our 1-year anniversary. Then, I read about Stormalong’s refurbishment period (hubby suggested Yacht Club for our stay, as he’d done Beach Club before, but thought we’d really enjoy Yacht for our romantic getaway.) So, I researched “best times to visit WDW” and found May and early September were the best times for what we’re looking for in a vacation. Done deal! Once January or February 2025 hit, I’ll be booking our stay for just after Labor Day 2025. Very excited; especially now, knowing the rooms will also have a fresh, new look! (It’ll be my husband’s third or fourth time there, but my first! I’m already planning to get “fairy dusted” at Sir Mickey’s! So, hopefully they don’t get rid of that before we go – I love glitter!! Haha!!)
