Each year, millions of visitors make their way to Disney World to vacation and visit the parks.
Arguably, the most popular and sought-out park for visitors is the Magic Kingdom. Not only is it the original Disney World park, but it is also iconic for Cinderella Castle and, of course, the nightly fireworks show. Although many people love to visit the Magic Kingdom, we asked our readers why they may consider skipping it when they visit.
Many readers said that they skipped it due to the lack of food options, the crowds, and, of course, the dreaded Transportation and Ticket Center, but one reader’s opinion really caught our eye.
Disney World is a popular tourist destination that draws people from all over the world, all in different stages of life. With so many people visiting the resort, it is essential to keep your health in mind as it can be easy to get sick when you are around crowds of people and touching different things like handlebars and drink dispensers.

One of our readers said that if they do not skip Magic Kingdom, they usually like to visit at the end of their trip because it is a “germ fest.” By visiting at the end of their trip, they can deal with being sick once they are at home instead of on vacation.
We won’t lie—there are germs all over the four Disney World parks. The custodial Cast Members work incredibly hard to keep the parks clean and comfortable for visitors, but it is impossible to eliminate all germs.
Although Magic Kingdom is the smallest park, it has the most attractions and a ton of kid-friendly offerings compared to a park like Hollywood Studios.
We visit Disney World every day and trust us, we have seen people do some really disgusting things. It makes sense that this reader waits to visit Magic Kingdom until the end of their trip.
10 Disgusting Things That Happen in Disney World Every Single Day
As we said, Disney World can’t eradicate all germs. Although Disney definitely had some creative ideas when the parks reopened due to COVID-19, it still is not possible to make Disney World germ-free. So, how can you keep yourself and your family as healthy as possible when visiting Disney World? We have some tips!
The biggest one is to make sure to add hand sanitizer or hand sanitizing wipes to your park bag. These are essential! Your hands can touch a lot of things throughout the day, like door handles, seatbelts, countertops, and so many other high-touch surfaces. We recommend sanitizing or washing your hands before eating, as well as after you get off attractions. You do not want to accidentally touch your face after touching a surface that thousands of other people have already touched.
While we know it is not easy not to touch anything, we highly recommend avoiding touching things like the ropes and chains in the queue line. Many children touch these, and yes, sometimes even lick them if you can avoid touching things that are not necessary to hold.
Another big tip is to stay hydrated! Not only can it be hot in the park, but to help avoid fatigue, which may make you more prone to sickness, make sure to drink water throughout the day. Sometimes, we also like to take Emergen-C during the week leading up to our trip.

Actually, you forgot the best way to avoid respiratory illnesses: masking with respirators (N95 etc) whenever indoor / in crowded settings. Including in places like hotels, elevators etc.
Based on my CO2 recordings last year many of the rides were quite well ventilated, better than I expected tbh, but not all were great, especially in some queues / preshows (Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway was one of the worst offenders I think).
You can laugh at it / not believe it, your choice, but in our case (family with someone at risk) it was a non-negotiable precaution.
