There are SO many places to eat in EPCOT, and it can be super overwhelming deciding where to dine.
Every World Showcase pavilion has a quick service restaurant, but I’m here to tell you that they are NOT all created equal. Some spots are a bit underwhelming, while others seem to hit every time. And recently, I visited one of those quick service spots that we really love here at DFB. Is it still a winner? Let’s dive in.
Atmosphere
For this review, I’m taking you along with me to grab some bites at Les Halles Boulangerie-Patisserie in the France Pavilion!
To enter this restaurant, you’ll have to go back into the France Pavilion, and then enter through a gift shop. The Boulangerie-Patisserie is tucked away in the back, and there’s almost always a line to order! But no worries, it moves pretty quickly!
After you wait in line, you’ll approach the bakery case, where a Cast Member will be assigned to help you. They’ll follow you along the case, adding the items you choose to a tray. During this process, you can tell them if you’d like your food toasted or heated up.
The first counter area is full of savory items, while the side counters are packed with sweet treats. Menus hang above the bakery cases with names, but during my visit, there were only name plates on the savory items.
While I was waiting in line for my food to be toasted, I noticed that they sell small jars of jams to go with your bread or pastries! These aren’t listed on the menu, but they’re SO cute.
Once you’ve got your food, you’ll check out and then stop along the side wall to pick up your utensils and napkins.
The seating area here is a little bit disappointing, which is my main complaint with the restaurant overall. There are a limited number of tables with chairs, and then a few standing tables around the edge of the room. Most of the time when I come in here, the tables are all full.
This restaurant is also home to two one-room bathrooms. So if you’re dining here, you don’t need to leave and walk around to the other side of the pavilion.
Now that I’ve given you the full tour, let’s talk about the menu.
Menu
There are three main sections to the menu here at Les Halles. First, there’s the beverages — you can order a variety of coffee drinks, as well as soft drinks, orange juice, milk, and a few alcoholic beverages. They serve a Frose, champagne, mimosas, wine, and beer.
The savory section of the menu includes several different house-made sandwiches, as well as baked goods like croissants and baguettes. Some of the more unique items include the Quiche Lorraine and Bisque de Homard (served in a bread bowl!).
And then, of course, we’ve got the desserts! Some of their popular options include croissants, beignets, tarts, eclairs, and macarons. SO many choices on this section of the menu.
So what did I order?
Eats
To get a good scope of the menu, I ordered two savory entrees, a dessert, and a baguette. Gotta try the bread, right?!
The first item on my list was the Bisque de Homard for $6.95. It’s lobster bisque in a bread bowl, and it’s one of my FAVORITE things on their menu. I’ve had this a few times in the past, but does it hit every time?
Spoiler: YEAH IT DOES. This soup is creamy and has a great lobster and tomato flavor with a warm richness that’s perfect for the falltime. I do wish there were some chunks of lobster throughout, but I can’t really complain about a seafood soup that I got for less than $7.
The bread bowl is soft and has the tang of sourdough bread. It’s the perfect texture and flavor for dipping in the soup or eating at the end when it’s all soaked through with that soupy goodness.
If you like your bread soggy, I recommend letting this sit a few minutes for the bowl to absorb the liquid. If you prefer your bread lightly flavored, then eat the soup right away.
The next item was something that was new for me, but is a longtime popular dish at the restaurant — the Croque Monsieur. It’s $10.50 and made with toasted ham and cheese. My initial thought here is that this is a little on the pricey side for an entree that doesn’t come with a side or beverage.
However, the sandwich was DANG good. It’s so deliciously cheesy with toasted cheese on top and a creamy cheese in the middle that reminds me of gruyere. The ham is savory and salty, which pairs really well with the creamy cheese. And then the bread is somehow still soft in the middle while being toasted. I would get this again, even with the price tag!
For dessert, I got the Duo au Chocolat, which is a white and dark chocolate mousse cake for $7.95. And boy is this thing shiny!
This has layers of dark chocolate and white chocolate, but the dark chocolate is definitely the overwhelming flavor. You really only get the white chocolate flavor from the shavings on the outside. The mousse is light and creamy, and the chocolate cake base is a little dry, but the textures work together well. If you love chocolate and you don’t mind super sweet treats, this might be for you — but I’m not going to tell you it’s the best chocolate dessert in the park.
And finally, we have the mascot of Les Halles, the Full Baguette for $3.95! Yeah, that’s right, you can get a whole loaf of bread for less than $4. That’s what makes this restaurant so beautiful.
Ultimately, this is pretty plain bread. It has a bit of tanginess and it’s fairly fluffy on the inside, but the outside is quite chewy. It’s not really an authentic baguette, but it’s not bad, and it’s incredibly cheap for a Disney World snack. It’s not the absolute best snack but it’s a very iconic snack that I recommend you try at least once.
So where does Les Halles stand?
Overall
I left this meal convinced that Les Halles is the BEST quick service in EPCOT. They have a wide variety of eats here, and nearly everything is delicious. It’s a struggle for a Disney World restaurant to be as consistent as this one is, and that’s a very big accomplishment.
The savory options on the menu are particular favorites of mine, and you really can’t beat SOME of the food prices here (there are also some items on the menu that are overpriced — I’m confused by their pricing structure).
Nosh or Not?
Enjoy a delicious Parisian feast if…
- You want a delicious breakfast in EPCOT. There aren’t a lot of great quick service breakfast options in EPCOT, and this is far and away my #1 pick for breakfast. Start with a croissant sandwich or a pastry — it’s a great stop if you’re starting in the World Showcase.
- You have some picky eaters. This is a great place to take picky eaters because there are a lot of simple “bread, meat, and cheese” options on the menu here.
- You want to eat on the go. If you’re planning to carry your food along with you, these are mostly easy items to eat as you walk around the World Showcase. That’s great when there aren’t many tables available.
Avoid this spot and head around the world instead if…
- You want to sit down. There aren’t many tables here, and they’re almost always full throughout main mealtimes. It’s not really a place where you can sit and chill for a long time.
- You need to eat fast. The line here can get pretty long and they don’t offer Mobile Order, so waiting to get your food may take longer than other less popular spots.
- You want some culinarily unique eats. These are simple bakery items, and they do them well. If you’re looking for something incredibly unique or innovative, this might not be the spot for you.

It is the best. Now if they’d just add it to mobile order it would be perfect!

I agree. The food is outstanding. But the availability of seats is absolutely awful. Not nearly enough room to enjoy the exquisite food..

We ate there twice this past week. Our daughter loves the lobster bisque in the boule, her absolute favorite! I
We have not had one bad item from there! Love the place!
Additional seating would be nice.

How have I never noticed those restrooms before?
The food is lovely but quite dear. Maybe in the USA you can’t buy this sort of thing in your local supermarket but in the UK we can.
The baguette at $3.95 + tax is much dearer than the 80p I pay at my local supermarket.

Can you get things wrapped to go there? I was thinking of hitting there closer to the end of the day to take things safely back to my room for breakfast or a late night snack

A baguette and a dessert and I’m in my happy place!
