Here at DFB, we’ve got some strong opinions about Disney food.
We visit Disney World every single day, and even those on our team who live out of town have tried a wide variety of snacks and restaurants in the parks. But recently, we discovered that one of our team members has a very controversial breakfast opinion…and I’m here to defend her!
My coworker DFB Breea recently shared with us that she actually prefers to eat Starbucks food for breakfast in the parks. Yep, that’s right, she’s choosing breakfast food she can order back home over anything available exclusively in Disney World!
So what does Breea have to say for herself?! She claims that the thing she loves about Starbucks breakfast food is that it’s consistent and reliable, no matter where you’re ordering it. Also, their breakfast items are typically small enough to not fill you up completely, which means more room for snacks later on in the day.
Her personal favorite choice is the Starbucks egg bites, which are (SADLY) not sold in the parks at this moment. As a backup, she also likes the Potato & Chive Bites (which ARE available) and the bacon & gouda egg sandwich.
Now, before you go hating on Breea, I’m here to defend her! As a reporter on the team, I’m in the theme parks pretty frequently. Unfortunately, I’ve noticed that some of the Disney World parks are lacking in affordable savory breakfast items. (I don’t want to start every single day with a Gaston’s Tavern cinnamon roll you guys!)
The Starbucks sandwiches, pastries, and breakfast items are reliable and consistent. They taste exactly like the Starbucks items I order outside the parks. And often, they’re cheaper than the breakfast options that Disney has. Honestly, my one downside to ordering Starbucks in the morning is that the Disney World locations can get VERY long lines.
There are SO many sweet treats available in the mornings (especially if I stop at a Joffrey’s kiosk), but sometimes I just need to start my day off with a little protein. A breakfast sandwich with bacon and eggs on it can really hit the spot. And I can reliably say that they usually taste better than any of the breakfast sandwiches that you find at quick service spots in the parks.
So don’t come for us — we love Disney food, but sometimes we’ve got to eat something familiar. Starting with that Starbucks sandwich will ensure that we still have room to eat all the Dole Whip and spring rolls we want later on!

A Starbuck’s breakfast, as good as the bacon, egg and gouda sandwich is, over the Ronto Roasters’s Breakfast wrap? I don’t think so.

Is it possible to purchase WDW tickets now for a future time period (in May, 2025) avoiding the 2025 price increases?

We often opt for character breakfasts when we eat breakfast, but I don’t hate on this at all! Starbucks savories are delicious for breakfast, and I too am not big on sweets any time of day, but especially first thing in the morning. I’m a little embarrassed to admit that I’ve never thought of this option, but then again, we do tend to sleep in or go somewhere for the characters or theming (like Rainforest Cafe). If you want a relatively affordable sit down savory breakfast at WDW, Rainforest Cafe is a good option. I don’t know if the one at Disney Springs is open for breakfast, but the one at AK is, and you don’t have to go into the park to get to it. It’s a great nearby option to Winter Summerland mini golf or Blizzard Beach too.

Another idea we use for breakfast, which saves time and money. We usually stay in a DVC villa room and have a fridge and microwave in our room. So we buy the Costco version of the Starbucks egg bites, and eat those in the room. We also bring cereal and fruit and have breakfast in our room every day except one, when we treat ourselves to a nice breakfast somewhere. Boma is a personal favorite.

The premise that “[Starbucks food is] consistent and reliable, no matter where you’re ordering it” is not quite true. It might be consistent across the United States (I haven’t checked all 50) but there are very significant (and yet non-obvious) differences in items between countries in terms of ingredients etc.
For example, a ‘Beyond Meat Breakfast Sandwich’ appears on both UK and US Starbucks menus. In the UK that is a completely plant based item made with a turmeric-tofu scramble and a coconut based cheese alternative. In the United States the sandwich is made with scrambled chicken egg and cow-based cheese, which is a super important difference for a lot of people (and not obvious unless you look carefully since they look similar, are the same portion size and sold under the same name.
