Character dining is a big draw for many families in Disney World.
While it’s more expensive than many other table service restaurants in Disney World (but not all!), the meet-and-greet opportunities you get with some of your favorite Disney characters make the cost worth it for many. However, we’re sorry to say that price increases have struck again in the parks, and several character dining experiences have increased around Disney World.
It’s not uncommon to see Disney World increase prices every year on food, experiences, park tickets, Annual Passes, and everything in between. If you’re heading on a trip in 2024 or 2025 and are planning to experience these character dining opportunities, check out these new prices before to see how much you’ll want to budget.
Let’s begin at Animal Kingdom. Tusker House, the buffet where you can “say Jambo to Donald Duck, Mickey Mouse, and other friends” while enjoying foods like Safari Bread, Mickey and Simba Waffles, and Moroccan-Spiced Beef, has seen price increases across the board.
The breakfast buffet has increased from $47 per adult and $30 per child to $49 per adult and $33 per child. Lunch and dinner buffet costs have increased as well, going from $62 per adult and $40 per child to $64 per adult and $42 per child.
Moving over to EPCOT, both of the park’s character dining experiences have increased. Located in Norway, Akershus features family-style offerings, including pastries, scrambled eggs, potato casserole, and Norwegian waffles for breakfast and field greens salad with lingonberry vinaigrette, traditional kjØttkake (Norwegian meatballs) and grilled salmon for lunch and dinner.
Breakfast went up from $55 per adult and $35 per child to $59 per adult and $38 per child, while lunch and dinner increased from $67 per adult/$43 per child to $69 per adult and $46 per child.
Finally, the Chip ‘n’ Dale Harvest Feast at The Land Pavilion (a.k.a Garden Grill) also increased. Breakfast, which offers items including cinnamon breakfast bread, scrambled eggs, cheesy potato casserole, and Mickey-shaped waffles, has increased from $47 to $49 for adults and $30 to $33 for children. Lunch and dinner, which offers items including a harvest-inspired garden salad, grilled beef with chimichurri, and all-natural sliced turkey with gravy, remains $62 per adult but has increased from $40 to $42 per child.

Sounds like they are creeping up the price hoping you would not notice. After covid, we stopped going to character meals. Our children are in their 20s. I feel bad for people with young children. They are not going to be able to afford, and they will be doomed to standing in line for a character meet and greet in the parks.
On our last trip, we met Donald and Goofy at Pete’s Silly Sideshow. It was in the evening, not many people in line.

I just canceled ressies for breakfast @ Crystal Palace. I’m not paying $52 x2 just to try the churro waffles!

Most of the prices increased 3-4$. Food in the grocery stores have gone up more than that, and you have to cook it,wash up and dress up if you want a character to visit your table. Yes, prices are going up but the amount you get and the entertainment is so much more. May be you 20 years will take you our 45 years take us and we have so much fun with the character. It’s nut just for families with little kids us big kids love the dinning. So 3-4$ increase for the amount of food (and good tasting) is not the horror you make it out be. Go to Disney and let you child out you will feel so much better when you have to go back to work. When you go under the gateway leave your negativity on the other side. Come enjoy the beauty and fun it is something you cannot get any place else.

Kind of silly that Park Fare just recently reopened and already there is a price increase. It used to seem like price increases were an annual thing, but suddenly feels like it has become quarterly. Perhaps increases in food costs are being past on, but I wonder if they are monitoring numbers for quarterly reports and quickly try to find revenue if numbers are tracking according to forecasts.
