Both Disneyland and Disney World threw us for a spin earlier this month when they announced the release of Lighting Lane Premier Pass for both coasts.
This is in addition to Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Single Pass currently available at both resorts but work differently from one another. Premier Pass also has different rules depending on which coast you’re visiting, but in Disneyland, it’s open for all guests willing to pay $400 a day, so we knew we had to try it out to tell you what we thought — here’s just how fast you can get through EVERYTHING included in Lightning Lane Premier Pass in Disneyland.
October 23rd was the first day of Lightning Lane Premier Pass in Disneyland, and we hopped onto our Disneyland App at 7AM to purchase the service to try out. Our reporter was in the park by 7:40 to rope drop Disneyland at 8AM and get started with booking attractions.
Now, Premier Pass allows you to ride every attraction included in the pass (which is nearly everything) once during the day, across Disneyland and Disney California Adventure. You don’t have to pre-book when you’re going to experience the attraction — you can just redeem it, and walk right up and scan in a moment later.
Once our reporter was in the park with their Premier Pass ready to go, they immediately made their way to Galaxy’s Edge. They made their first ride of the day Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run, before heading over to Rise of the Resistance. From there, they rode EVERY Premier Pass-eligible attraction in the park (Currently “it’s a small world” is closed for refurbishment and Haunted Mansion Holiday is only using a virtual queue. Pirates of the Caribbean was available as a replacement) by 2PM PST.
EVERY Ride Included With Disneyland’s New $400 Lightning Lane Premier Pass
This means they experienced a bevy of attractions, including the Matterhorn, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, and Space Mountain, all with waits of little to no time.
Following the completion of Disneyland’s available attractions, our reporter park hopped over to California Adventure. Over the next roughly four hours, they were able to ride *almost* every DCA ride offered via Premier Pass, including Guardians of the Galaxy: Monsters After Dark. Something interesting to note here is that both the original version of Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout and the Monsters After Dark Halloween overlay are offered as Premier Pass attractions, but one must arrive early enough to ride the former. If the latter is already running upon arrival, the Premier Pass only allows one ride. The only caveat? Radiator Springs was DOWN, and remained so as our day at the park wrapped. Not even a $400 pass can stand up to dreaded “technical issues” and this just so happened to be our reporter’s favorite ride in the park.
If you’re looking to do every ride at Disneyland Resort in one day, whether it’s due to a personal challenge you’ve set for yourself or because you have very limited time at the resort, this could be a great option to budget for. However, it’s certainly not for everyone, and it’s important to remember that you can still have a wonderful day at Disneyland and Disney California Adventure without skipping the lines.

I think this LL premier pass will replace the lightning lane multi pass over time. We will eventually have just a regular standby lane and Premier. I know that I will be pressed if I have to wait in a regular lightning lane after paying $300-450. It makes no sense to have all three. also no one wants to be stressed on their phone all day running around the park like crazy. Arguably the #1 complaint, That part has truly taken away the magic. The whole idea was always STUPID. They should have had premier added years ago and single ride option, makes the most sense by far, those high prices will more than make up for the phase out of the dumb Multipass option.

This is disgusting.
Walt made Disneyland for families and this prices all families out.

Is this 400 include admission? Or do you also have to pay admission?
Michael Marcucci says
I’m sorry but $400 a day is a stupid crazy price. Most people can’t afford that. I would never be able to afford that. I’ve paid the extra money to get on the Radiator Springs racers because they were supposedly sold out of the lightning pass but available if you paid the extra money. Same with that Star Wars ride and Mickey’s railway. But $400 a day is just too damn expensive. I was looking at going to Disneyland for my 50th birthday which is December 23 but that date was blocked out with the Mickey’s salute pass for Veterans. The pass is only available on bases MWR-Morale. Welfare and Recreation on US bases .
