There are some extras in Disney World that many visitors always think are worth paying extra for.
That includes Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Lightning Lane Single Pass, as well as upgrades to preferred rooms at some Disney World hotels, the Disney Dining Plan, and more. One of the most popular paid perk, though, could be the hotel refillable mugs that let you pay one price and get unlimited refills on drinks like soda, coffee, and tea throughout your hotel stay. Well, that perk just got a bit more expensive.
If you’re not familiar with Disney World’s refillable mugs, we’ll give you a rundown of how it works. For one price, you buy a refillable mug from any Disney World resort. You can then use that mug for free refills of soda, coffee, tea, and several other beverages at Disney World hotels (and it’s ONLY at Disney World hotels) for the entirety of your stay. You can fill the mugs up at any Disney World hotel, too.
Previously, the cost of a refillable mug at Disney World was $21.99. However, that price has gone up by $1 and you’ll now pay $22.99 for a refillable mug. Depending on how many fountain drinks, coffee, and tea you drink, though, this could still be a great way to save money. Plus many Disney World visitors just find it convenient if they’re drinking a lot of beverages from hotels.
This is just one of MANY price increases we’ve recently seen at Disney World that also includes price increases on 2025 theme park tickets, Annual Passes, food, and more. This is the time of year we often see price increases, so we’re not too surprised. However, we wanted to let you know about this particular change in case it’s part of your Disney World trip budget.

We have been staying at Fort Wilderness the past several trips, and the quick service there is not comparable to even value quick service spots now. It’s also inconvenient unless you are going to the Settlement Outpost anyway. We also have so many places that we like to dine in the parks, that we rarely venture out into the resorts we’re not staying out, and when we do, it’s usually for table service. But I will say this – when we stayed at other more typical resorts, and we took Disney transpo, we did like to stop by for refills on our way out in the mornings or when we came back at night, especially if our path took us past the quick service location anyway. The walk to the bus stop or other transportation from your room at many resorts will take you close to the quick service spot(s). Plus you do have a useful souvenir of your trip when you’re done. If the mug is in good condition, you may even be able to sell it and recoup a lot of the cost, if you’re so inclined. I haven’t sold any of our refillable mugs, but I have occasionally bought them after our trip from resellers when I thought they were particularly cute (like the ones with the Mickey-shaped lids a few years back).

Disney can keep them !!

A $1 increase isn’t horrible. I’ll still get one; I usually fill it 2 to 3 times per day of a 5 or 6 day stay, so I always get my money’s worth (Yes, I actually did the math.) It’s a shame that you can’t bring the mug back on your next trip and pay to reactivate it, because they can really pile up if you visit often.

Please DO NOT MAKE THIS INCREASE OF ONLY ONE DOLLAR A GOOD THING. IT IS ANOTHER MONEY GRAB BY DISNEY. SHAME ON YOU DISNEY

I agree with Ron. Disney has become so very expensive and has changed so much that I will not be able to afford to go back again. It is a shame that so many of us regular people who used to go twice a year cannot afford to go back .

I would not pay for this in a bazillion years. I remember when you got them for free when you stayed at a Disney resort as well as a free magic band mailed to your home, free packages delivered to your hotel from park souvenir purchases, etc. I never used the refillable mug when it was free as I drink mostly water and bring my own refillable water bottle. I agree with Roz….Disney can keep them.
