BIG changes are happening in Disneyland. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is opening soon and is now going through its early previews.
Construction on the new Haunted Mansion queue and gift shop is still underway. Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree recently opened in what will soon be Bayou Country (goodbye, Critter Country). A new Coco ride and Avatar land is on the way. However, we just took a walk through Disneyland Resort and we noticed some recent changes that we’re excited about!
Now, we’ve already spotted the holiday snow on Sleeping Beauty Castle, but we’ve seen even more signs of Christmas creeping into Disneyland during what is STILL technically Halloween Time. We spotted holiday decorations up in New Orleans Square.
We also saw Christmas decor in California Adventure at the Rushin’ River store. There’s some pretty holiday greenery above the store’s entrance.
The stockings have already been hung here.
Now that Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is in early previews, we also noticed that the construction walls around the ride have FINALLY come down.
Welcome to Bayou Country, y’all.
Speaking of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, we also heard the ride referenced for the first time on the Disneyland Railroad.

Also, we are VERY excited about the transformation of Marceline’s Confectionery in Downtown Disney into Disney’s Wonderful World of Sweets (the name of this shop just makes us SO HAPPY!). Marceline’s has been operating in the front of the building while construction is happening in the closed store, but the construction walls around the shop are now GONE.
Does that mean we’ll be able to hop in and buy some sweets soon (not to mention Werther’s caramel popcorn!)? For now, though, you can still visit Marceline’s via the cart in front of the shop. But we’re holding our breath for an opening date soon.
We’ll be keeping an eye out for even more changes in Disneyland, so stay tuned to DFB for more.
