Have you ever wondered what it might be like to LIVE in Disney World or Disneyland?
Imagine waking up every morning to Disney magic all around you — how amazing would that be? Well, Disney is kinda bringing that concept to life with its residential communities. In 2022, the company announced Storyliving by Disney, which seeks to create communities with HOUSES YOU CAN BUY that will let you live within the Disney magic 24/7. Right now, two communities are in the works, including Asteria in North Carolina and Cotino in California. Well, we’ve been following Cotino’s construction progress, and we’ve got a new update!
Cotino is located in Rancho Mirage, California, and will include a variety of home styles and a community center designed after the Parr House in The Incredibles. Yep, this community will include Disney theming throughout! In a new video, Disney turned to the voice of Mickey Mouse, Bret Iwan, to take a tour of this new community and give us an updated look at its progress. One of the things we get to see is the entrance to Cotino!
We also got a look at the construction of what will become Longtable Park, the first of several community parks in Cotino. The name comes from Walt Disney himself because when he visited the area, he “often began his day with some desert adventures then join his neighbors for a group breakfast and good conversation around a friendly table.” This area will be for Cotino residents 55 and older and will be ready for its first residents in early 2025.
We also got details about the main clubhouse for Artisan Club, which will be a hub of activity for Artisan Club members. This will include special programming, dining, activities, and more.
We also got a sneak peek at the construction of some of the houses in the community (now, we’re talking!). Some model homes will be open in early 2025. The Walt Disney Company has three award-winning builders working on the homes to offer a variety of house sizes and styles.
Other model homes will be open even earlier — fall 2024! That’s like close to NOW.

Needless to say, there’s a lot happening at Cotino, and you’ll be able to tour some of the model homes SOON. We’ll keep you updated on the status of Cotino, so stay tuned to DFB for more.
