With so many restaurants for you to choose from at Disney World, it’s fair to think that not all of them are created equal.
So it’s understandable why we can get overwhelmed with all of the choices available to us. Now, we’re here to help you out, which is why we are constantly giving you our two-cents on these Disney World spots (we hate to see you have bad experiences on your trip), but this time we thought we’d have you to tell us which is the worst Disney restaurant at Magic Kingdom! Let’s go.
It can be tricky to find the right place to eat in Disney World. It also doesn’t help that there are over 200 restaurants to choose from. Do you stick with an old favorite or do you try to be adventurous?
Even though we’ve reviewed every restaurant in Disney World, we still enjoy hearing about your experiences at them. You definitely have a lot to say about these spots, which we appreciate, and specifically there’s one restaurant at Magic Kingdom you’re rating as the worst of the worst!
So which restaurant are we warning you about today? The Diamond Horseshoe in Magic Kingdom.
This restaurant can be found in Liberty Square at Magic Kingdom. This spot is an all-you-care-to-enjoy family style dinner (think Thanksgiving and you’ll be spot on). It’s important to note that the menu here is the same served at Liberty Tree Tavern, which is rated 4 stars on Yelp.
Why it’s the worst-rated
According to the ratings left on Yelp, The Diamond Horseshoe stands at a 2.9 out of 5 stars rating.
As to how the food tastes, several reviewers were very vocal about their rating. One reviewer wrote…

Cons
Based on several of the reviews we read it seems like several folks were displeased with the food quality.
Our understanding is they were displeased with the way things were seasoned (or rather the lack of seasoning) and just generally didn’t match their expectations based on previous experiences at other Disney World restaurants.
Pros
One reviewer had mostly positive things to say about their dining experience here noting…
This reviewer left 5 stars out of 5 on Yelp.
Another reviewer also gave a glowing review about their dining experience here noting…
This review gave their experience 5 stars.
What we thought
Our last visit here wasn’t so bad. We felt that overall it was pretty simple Thanksgiving feast, and that there isn’t much for more adventurous eaters.
And since this spot is an all-you-care-to-enjoy family-style, you can eat and keep eating until the cows come home. But we felt that the star of the entire experience was the dessert which was the Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake. To be honest, we would come back again just for this cake!
Overall if you’re craving a basic, family-style thanksgiving dinner and have a picky eater appetite, stopping by this restaurant would be worth a try. However, if you’re really craving a more exciting and flavorful experience, you probably won’t find that here based on our, and your experiences.
Recommendations for other restaurants that are better in Magic Kingdom or other similar cuisine restaurants
If you’re looking for something to satisfy the more adventurous eaters, you might want to consider checking out Jungle Navigation Co., Ltd. Skipper Canteen nearby in Adventureland for some more unique eats.

OH, Thank you for say how good the Diamond Horseshoe was. We just love the meal. I believe it is the same meal as the Liberty Tree but easier to get in to. Knowing that lunch is easy to get in going to switch to that instead of dinner.

I think the guests you interviewed missed the point and realistic ambiance and flavor of this old time eatery of the period. It is not supposed to be gourmet dining, it is supposed to reflect a period of time In the American past when seasonings and spices were few and far between. Did it taste like an authentic American spread from the 1880’s. That is what Disney is selling here. A little pricy, but correct for the 1880 patron. The Horse Shoe was one a Review before it went full sit down. Disney could surely improve the atmosphere with a vaudeville show or at lease a good time old time piano player to elevate the experience and support the pricy nature of the visit.

I’m curious to know how Liberty Tree Tavern is rated, since it’s exactly the same food.

When we go to the Diamond Horseshoe, it’s for the chance to dine there and see the beautiful interior, and hopefully, the player piano. For many people, it’s not a spot for being blown away by the food. I will say that the last time we were there, it was table service, and one of the tables was so close to ours that someone from their party accidentally sat at our table. The kids kept leaving their crowded table to climb on the extra chairs from ours, and no one said anything. We eventually scooted a litlle further away (leaving the ’empty’ chairs where they were’) but fortunately I think we’ve had our fill of DH for a while. It’s a beautiful place that most guests would enjoy seeing at least once.
