It’s about to get easier to fly to Disney World!
We’re always keeping up with the latest travel news and tips, especially when it comes to flying to Orlando and Disney World! If you plan on flying out this way soon — you’re in luck! Your options are about to increase as United Airlines just announced that the airline will be adding flights at the Orlando International Airport (MCO).
Starting this winter, United Airlines will be adding flights to 140 United States airports, including Orlando International Airport!
Per the Orlando Business Journal, United Airlines will offer “more than 4,600 flights per day in the January to March window.” We’ll also see over 20 additional departures from its hub airports to Florida cities like Orlando, Fort Lauderdale, and Palm Beach. An exact schedule of upcoming flights is not yet available.
United has also noted that it has plans for a new $300 million aircraft maintenance hangar in Orlando, making it the largest private aviation investment in MCO’s history.
In a statement, United’s Senior Vice President of Global Network Planning and Alliances added, “This winter, we’re offering more flights to more destinations to give customers the widest range of places to explore.” As we head into the holiday season, there’s no doubt air travel will be in heavy demand.
Last year, United Airlines was MCO’s seventh-largest airline and accommodated 4.36 million passengers. This new initiative combined with the aircraft maintenance hanger indicates the airline’s willingness to serve the Orlando area to a greater extent. The airport currently features 44 airlines, with 850 arrivals and departures daily.
