Another Disney World hotel is getting an upgrade.
New rooms coming to the Island Tower.
A brand-new hotel tower is getting ready to open at Disney Polynesian Village Resort, Fort Wilderness got new cabins this year, and newly renovated rooms are debuting at Port Orleans French Quarter. And now we’re learning about a $275 million expansion at another Disney World hotel.
The Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin plans to expand its convention space by 120,000 square feet, as well as renovating the hotel rooms at the Swan and existing meeting rooms.

The Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin hotels are located in the EPCOT Resort Area at Disney World. They are connected to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios by the Friendship Boats and walking paths. One of the reasons we love the Swan and Dolphin is that this hotel is on Disney World property, but it’s owned by Marriott. So you can use and earn hotel points here!

The Swan and Dolphin Hotel complex, which also includes the Swan Reserve hotel that opened in November 2021, is very popular for business conferences and meetings. Right now, the hotels have 333,000 square feet of meeting space, and the new expansion will bring that total to 469,000 square feet.

According to Prevue Meetings, a new two-story annex will be added to connect the existing meeting space. The expansion will include multi-purpose space and a ballroom.
Swan and Dolphin
Some of the renovations are already underway, including a new color palette of white, blue, gray and natural wood in the existing ballrooms and breakout rooms, as well as the addition of luxury tile flooring and new decor in the Swan hotel rooms. The hotel says the room renovations will be completed this year.

I’m so sad. I love it the way it is. 😭
I stayed 7 nights at the Swan in May of 2023. It was pleasant. However, I truly missed the Disney extras that make staying with them special. The staff were cordial at the Swan, but no one went out of their way to provide that extra “umph” as I call it! I will save up and stay at a Disney resort next time!

Does Disney even own the Swan and Dolphin? I thought Tishman Realty & Construction Corporation and MetLife own the hotels and managed by Marriott.
