The wait is over! Disney World’s newest restaurant quietly opened recently!
The Cake Bake Shop opened October 24th, and we have been lucky enough to try the bakery, breakfast, lunch and the champagne bar there! This is an elegant dining location, perfect for celebrating special occasions. And now, it’s about to get easier to dine there.
UPDATE: Cake Bake Shop reservations are no longer bookable via Open Table, instead, you can now book through the My Disney Experience app!
For its soft open, the Cake Bake Shop was not taking reservations — you had to walk up and wait for a table.
But now, this restaurant has opened reservations! You won’t find them in the Disney World app, though — at least not for now. You’ll need to book your reservation through the OpenTable app or website.
You can find the Cake Bake Shop right here on OpenTable. At the time this post was written, there were multiple reservations still available for this weekend! OpenTable is a good place to look for Disney World reservations — many of the independently owned restaurants at Disney World (like Morimoto Asia, Shula’s Steak House, Rosa Mexicano, and Jaleo) hold out some reservations from the Disney World app and make them available on OpenTable.
You can make your reservation for breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner, or even just dessert and a cocktail.
This is a pricey restaurant, and our readers have spoken out about the menu prices. In fact, the Cake Bake Shop posted a menu and then revised that menu a few days before opening — lowering many of the menu prices. You can expect to spend $23 for a giant cake slice…
…or $29 for a Croque Madame made with country bread, French ham, Gruyère cheese, and Maille Dijon mustard topped with béchamel sauce, and a farm fresh sunny side up fried egg and served with an arugula salade dressed with homemade lemon vinaigrette and topped with Parmesan cheese.
For dinner, you might try Three Cheese Cavatappi w/ Basil Breadcrumbs which costs $23.99. The dish blends Gruyère, Vermont sharp cheddar, and a touch of bleu cheese which is melted in a homemade cream sauce with applewood smoked bacon folded into cavatappi pasta. It is topped with toasted basil breadcrumbs and baked to perfection. The cavatappi is served with a freshly toasted half French baguette and salted European butter.
We have enjoyed all the food we have had here, and we are eager to go back and try this restaurant again. One thing is for sure — the surroundings are opulent.
Everything here glistens — even some of the food! The Pumpkin Spice Latte with Almond Milk twas made with wo shots of Illy espresso with pumpkin pie syrup and steamed milk sprinkled with pumpkin spice for $7.99. It was glittery. It also had a cute presentation with the cinnamon and it came with a cinnamon sugar donut hole.
You can expect to spend $50-$100 per person at Cake Bake Shop, depending on whether you choose appetizers and dessert (trust us, you can share these!), and whether you order cocktails. Speaking of those cocktails…
…we asked to sit in the champagne bar on one of our visits, where we had a Bellini ($18.99) made with St. Hilaire Brut sparkling wine, Giffard Creme de Péche de vigne, and peach puree.
If you’re celebrating a special occasion at Disney World, The Cake Bake Shop is a new place to try — just remember that at least for now, you can’t make reservations here through Disney World. You’ll need to go to OpenTable.

FYI their website reservation link redirects to the My Disney Experience Cake Bake shop page. No direct reservations from their site or that location.
Unfortunately I saw no open table availability for the entire week of 11/17-11/21 when I’m going to be there !
