Before you know it, we’ll be ringing in a new year in Disney World! If you’re planning a trip to Disney World as 2024 comes to an end, you might want to check out this new Disney Resort event. Be warned, though — this Disney party is NOT cheap.
Disney World is expensive. Whether you’re staying at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort with your family or visiting Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort with your partner, the trip adds up pretty quickly. With all the recent price increases — and a controversial new luxury Lightning Lane Premier Pass option — it seems like Disney has no plans to lower costs. And now, Disney just announced a New Year’s Eve event at Disney’s Contemporary Resort is back (for $800 per person). Be ready to SPLURGE if you’re interested.
Disney just announced that its grand New Year’s Eve event at California Grill will return in 2024. This year’s theme is new — it’s called Tiana’s New Year’s Adventure at California Grill. Disney described the event as a “fantastical evening,” complete with food, champagne, wine, and “one-of-a-kind entertainment.”
As we mentioned earlier, this is not an inexpensive party. Tickets are $799 per person, including tax and gratuity, and the event begins at 7:30PM on December 31st and ends at 12:30AM on January 1st. So, what’s included at a Disney-themed New Year’s Eve party? The story goes that Princess Tiana and Prince Naveen stopped by California Grill to sample the cuisine, meet some new friends, and assist Tiana’s friend, Chef Matthew.
In true Disney fashion, there will be a little extra magic throughout the night. It sounds like, thanks to Mama Odie, Louis and a few of Tiana’s other critter pals will crash the party. Disney teased, “Throughout the night, Mama Odie will cast playful spells to help Louis and friends stay out of sight of Tiana and Naveen,” and Tiana will need YOUR help to find those extra party guests! In fact, Disney says, “Be prepared to join in the action!”
This is designed to be a luxury event, so participants are encouraged to dress their best. Disney promises to start 2025 with a champagne toast at midnight, and you’ll have a lovely view of the New Year’s Eve fireworks at California Grill.
Really, though, the most important part of visiting this restaurant is the FOOD, and the menu is filled with New Year’s dishes. Here’s a look at the menu:

You can tell it’s a SUPER fancy event when there’s a “fanciful ice sculpture” in the dining room, too.
The good news is that the event did NOT get a price increase this year. Last year, the event was called Alice’s Whimsical World of Wonderland and offered essentially the same mix of foods and entertainment.
OK…be honest. Are you a little tempted to splurge on this event for 2025? It sounds like quite the party! In the meantime, we’re always on the lookout for the latest Disney news, so stay tuned for more.

Rooms nowadays look very generic. Might as well stay at the Ritz. Same prices, MUCH more luxurious.

It’s bad enough that they ruined Splash Mountain to go woke. Now they’re going to push it on the California Grill. They just won’t learn!
Return the California Grill to its al carte magnificence, and, maybe, we’ll return. Not before!
