We are huge supporters of planning ahead for your Disney World trip, but what about planning ahead by over 20 years?
Well, if you are a fan of solar eclipses, you may want to consider planning a Disney World trip for August 12th, 2045.
On August 12th, 2045, there will be a total solar eclipse that will be able to be seen in Disney World. That’s right, if you have ever dreamed of seeing a solar eclipse on Main Street, U.S.A. in Magic Kingdom, this is your chance!
We were able to see a partial solar eclipse at Disney World earlier this year. At the peak of the eclipse, the sun was only about 57% obscured in Orlando. However, in just over 20 years from now, we will be able to see a TOTAL solar eclipse.
That means that the sun will be completely obscured by the Moon, and it will end up looking like it is dark in the middle of the day. On August 12th, 2045, the total solar eclipse will begin around 12:28PM and will last until around 12:34PM. For about 5 minutes, Disney World will be in darkness, and we can’t wait to experience it.
While solar and lunar eclipses usually happen multiple times each year, you can only see a total solar eclipse anywhere on Earth about once or twice per year. And being able to see a total solar eclipse at Disney World on Main Street, U.S.A. is a once-in-a-lifetime situation.
So, if you are a big planner, get your calendar out and mark it now for a Disney World trip in August 2045. We think it will be a pretty magical experience! While we wait for 2045, we think you should probably try to fit in a few practice Disney World trips. You know, want to make sure you are prepared!

I will probably be not interested or not alive. I hope they get a clear day, and disney will probably sell them protective glasses.

If I at age 109 were to be in WDW to watch the eclipse my presence would eclipse the solar event as news!

Well I hope I will be alive to see it. I will be in my 70’s! Yikes!!!!
