Come with us aboard the Disney Treasure!
The newest addition to the Disney Cruise Line fleet, the Disney Treasure, is set to make its maiden voyage on December 21st, 2024 and we’re getting a first look in New York City! The new ship will be home to several different experiences and restaurants such as the AquaMouse and Marvel Celebration of Heroes: Groot Remix including one based on Disney and Pixar’s Coco!
Disney invited us to take an early look at the Disney Treasure, including its new Plaza de Coco restaurant!
Plaza de Coco is set in the town of Coco‘s Santa Cecilia and is part of the ship’s rotational dining. The restaurant will offer two evenings of a dinner entertainment experience in addition to a menu that “draws inspiration from Miguel’s colorful world.” We got to take a peek at the drink menu which features themed cocktails, traditional drinks, a variety of wines, and much more!
The two dining experiences serve up Mexican-inspired fare as well as live entertainment, making guests feel like they are part of the familia.
The celebration includes two different shows. Night 1 is a festive gathering of familia, starring the Rivera family, and night 2 will host a celebration of Dia de los Muertos, where Miguel will reunite with his great-grandparents with the help of his magic guitar.
They will also feature two different dinner menus inspired by each experience. We got to try the chorizo croquettes which were AMAZING, and the guacamole!
A unique design detail we spotted was the family Ofrenda, decorated with beautiful flowers and framed photos of family members who have passed. This dining experience is sure to transport guests to the vibrant world of the film, with many decorative details paying tribute to the characters and bringing to life the story of Coco. It is sure to be an unforgettable experience.
We’ll continue to keep you posted on all kinds of Disney Treasure updates so stay tuned right here at DFB for all the latest!
