Let’s SET SAIL!
The Disney Treasure is almost ready for its maiden voyage, and we got to check out everything new on the latest addition to the Disney Cruise Line’s fleet, including the HIGHLY-ANTICIPATED new lounge themed to Disney’s ICONIC Haunted Mansion.
Last Fall, Disney announced that the Treasure would feature the Haunted Mansion Parlor, a lounge the company said would resemble the first-class drawing room of a classic cruise liner, taking “inspiration” from the original Haunted Mansion with a nautical twist.
They went on to say the space would “immerse guests in the next chapter of the Haunted Mansion saga, bringing this fan-favorite lore to life in a whole new way. The one-of-a-kind experience will be a swinging wake unlike any other, that of a jovial captain who entered the ghostly realm after a disastrous dinner with his beloved fiancé.”
We’re in New York City for the ship’s christening — and a first look at TONS of spots aboard the ship, including the Haunted Mansion Parlor! But first, Disney has shared another sneak peek at this spot and we just had to share it with you! Welcome, foolish mortals — to the Haunted Mansion Parlor!
We love how much it resembles the ride — especially here at the entrance.
Here’s a look at the bar, which will feature plenty of hauntingly delicious cocktails, beer, wine, mocktails, and more. We may even get to see some familiar faces hiding behind that mirror, too!
There’s even an actual Donald Duck chair that it looks like you can actually sit in — which we’ll confirm for ourselves in just a bit.
It’s incredible how much this parlor truly does resemble the Mansion, even down to the spooky busts! Above the mini Grandfather Clock, you’ll notice there’s a painting that could be a reference to the Flying Dutchman painting in the Portrait Corridor on the ride — that flickers to reveal a ship with tattered sails.
It looks like this aquarium is being taken over by a sea monster — perhaps there will be some sort of interactive feature here like you might experience at Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Room or Grog Grotto! It’s possible that the aquarium is a tribute to Disney Imagineer Rolly Crump, who had previously designed a ghostly aquarium full of the ghosts of dead fish.
The space doesn’t look small, but it’s certainly not a large area either. We’re expecting the Haunted Mansion Parlor to be pretty popular among Disney Treasure passengers! Note that there is a very limited amount of seating in here. It’s set up like a true parlor or lounge instead of a bar with lots of tables.
We love how cozy the atmosphere is — it truly looks like you’ve stepped back in time and right into the Haunted Mansion. Stay tuned for our FULL coverage of this space as we get an exclusive look at the Disney Treasure!
The NEW Haunted Mansion Parlor on the Disney Treasure is truly incredible and we can’t wait to enjoy it when we officially set sail on the Disney Treasure! Stay tuned to DFB for more on the new ship!
