We’re getting some big additions in EPCOT next year!
Test Track will reopen with an entire new theme and look, and a brand-new lounge is coming to Spaceship Earth. We can’t wait to check out that new dining space, but as Disney fans, our team has some demands about what we’d like to see included!
Themed Drinks
First of all, our team requests that the Spaceship Earth lounge will have a menu filled with super cool themed drinks. We’d especially love one of them to be something smoky called “Rome Burning” — you can’t have a Spaceship Earth lounge and NOT pay homage to the ride’s most iconic scent!
In fact, let’s make all the drinks themed to the ride! We could have “Thank the Phonecians” and the “Grand and Miraculous” cocktail and even the “Faceless Newsboy” or the “Foxy Scientist.” Ideas abound!
EPCOT Music
Every good restaurant has a chill soundtrack that really sets the vibe for the space, and with the Spaceshp Earth lounge, it’s really a no-brainer. We NEED to hear all our favorite tunes from EPCOT days past. There better be some “Universe of Energy” moments and bopping to “Veggie, Veggie, Fruit, Fruit.”
Seriously, at this point we’ve got nearly five decades of ride soundtracks to pull from, and if Disney was able to make a whole fireworks show themed to old EPCOT music, then they can certainly pull out the best tunes for the restaurant. We promise you people would go feral for the Tapestry of Nations music.
Nods to Old EPCOT
And speaking of nods to old EPCOT, this is a chance for the Imagineers to absolutely ball out. We’re talking old animatronics, concept art from gone attractions, hidden details in the carpet…really anything that allows us to have a little EPCOT history scavenger hunt during our meal.
This lounge could totally pay homage to the EPCOT of the 80s, and people would flock there just to feel the nostalgia. We seriously can’t wait to see what Disney does with the space.
As Many Spaceship Earth-Shaped Things as Possible
Included in that decor is bound to be quite a few geodesic spheres…it’s a cool look! We’d love to see the pattern in the carpet, on the walls, and we’d especially love Spaceship Earth-inspired chandeliers. It would be incredible!
Seriously, depending on how cheesy we want to get here, we could have Spaceship Earth throw pillows, coasters, menus, windows, really anything. It could be truly unique!
Really Good Food
Of course, here at DFB, one of our biggest priorities for this new lounge is the menu! EPCOT is known for its wide variety of cuisine, and while some places around the park are beloved, others are not. You know what we want from the Spaceship Earth lounge if it’s not too much to ask? A really solid, delicious menu with hopefully affordable prices.
A really reliable place to get small plates and just chill out with friends in the middle of a long park day would be lovely. Even though there are other lounges around the park, this one could stand out as the place where anybody can go — a lounge for the people!
Dame Judi Dench
And finally, our last request is simple. No trouble here at all, really. In fact, it’s a positively easy request to grant. We just want Dame Judi Dench, the voice of Spaceship Earth, to be hanging out in the lounge at all times, ready to share a meal with us at a moment’s notice. Sounds delightful, right?
So there you have it! All of our completely reasonable demands for the new Spaceship Earth lounge coming to EPCOT. We can’t wait to check it out!

That’s not Rome burning; it’s Alexandria in Egypt, the location of the largest library in the Western world at that time.
